If people have to be encouraged to vote, if they don’t see it as their right and enjoy exercising it, then why pursue them? Democracy only belongs to the engaged. Unfortunately, big business and special interest are more engaged than the American population. That is why our government belongs to them.

If the best people can do is vote once every four years then we deserve what we get. Where was this patriotic fervor during the primaries? When we really needed people to vote and be engaged. If Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich were their party’s nominee, then I would be stoked.

Something I find extroardinarily ironic about all the get out the vote campaigns. Those who are the ones who wouldn’t normally vote are necessarily the ones who are least informed about elections. Do we really want people who know the least making decisions during the most important election of our lifetime? Somehow this doesn’t strike me as a good idea.

I agree …vote. If you don’t vote, don’t whine. If you didn’t do your homework and know what you are voting for, don’t whine. We are a global society. The decisions you make when you vote will not only influence the way things are run here in America but around the world.
