Twitter So Changes The Dynamic Of A Conference

I haven’t gotten to watch your keynote speech video just yet, going to after this comment. It’s amazing the power that Twitter has and it has sure opened up the communication channels between people.

It’s interesting that a person can read through the talk on twitter and take note of all the major bullet points from the speech, especially when it’s non-coordinated bits of multiple conversations.

Twitter sure is changing how conferences are run. Ditto on Steven’s comment up there. An awesome speech there. The video was a bit slow for me, but the sound was working fine here, so at least I got to hear a good portion of it. Thanks!

Impressive. Good advice to never shake hands in the bathroom (or right outside). Hey, what tools do you use to cut and paste all those tweets into your posts? They all appear to be perfectly sized.

Very cool, Jeremy. I’m not sure what they’re thinking charging just $50 for a conference like that, but looks like it’s great stuff bit some big names. I checked out your keynote this morning and I thought you did a fantastic job. First time keynoting? I’m sure many will follow. It wasn’t as good as your presentation at the latest Elite Retreat but still very inspiring.

Its like its not just you and who you talk to anymore. Its like a delayed live chat between everyone at the conference, evolving as the conference progresses. Its like experiencing the conference from many different angles and perspectives all at once, or so it seems to me. Thats really cool.

Jeremy,

You are so right about Twitter changing the dynamic. And at this conference, it was not just Twitter, it was the Ustream chat shown on the TV screens. Ustream was the official channel and Twitter was the “backchannel.” People seemed to be a little nicer in the Ustream chat than in the Twitter messages.

I saw you checking out the TV screen during the afternoon panel, probably a good idea to make sure you were staying on topic.

It really makes the speaker be on their game. I expand on this a little in my blog post.
