Design Banners For ShoeMoney Tools Affiliate Program – Win Prizes

by Jeremy Schoemaker on August 28, 2008 · 68 comments

We are going to kickoff the affiliate program for shoemoney tools on Monday where users can earn $75 per referral and I am looking for some sweet looking banners to add to the promotional resources.

So we are going to have a mini contest…

Make 4 banners animated or otherwise of the following sizes:

125x125px
120x600px
160x600px
468x60px

Formats can be jpg, png, gif or swf. Please keep size within reason.

Zip them up and mail them to tigh at shoemoney.com

Here is a higher res shoemoney logo if you need one

You only have a couple days. In order to be eligible all banners must be submitted by midnight August 30th.

The will put up the 468x60px ones on shoemoney.com and let users vote. You can be creative with your copy but so far we like “Tools That Make You Money” kind of theme.

The top user will receive a ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION TO SHOEMONEY TOOLS, a brand new flip mino, and of course some shoemoney gear.

Lets see what you got!

Is there a way to see the list of tools available without having to login?

Reply

12 JumboCasher.com August 29, 2008 at 2:54 am

can they be modified, i mean wont that be a copyright violation issue or something?

Reply

13 Eric August 29, 2008 at 3:01 am

lol, copyright violation against whom? Shoemoney? The person running this very contest? I wish my image skills were up to par, else I’d join in. Guess I’ll just watch from the sidelines:)

Four graphics for a Mino and shwag is pretty cheap, but I’m a sucker for free stuff. I’m in.

15 Jeremy Schoemaker August 28, 2008 at 3:22 pm

what do you suggest ?

Reply

16 Jeremy Schoemaker August 28, 2008 at 3:22 pm

actually tbh we are always looking for good graphics people and put them to work ;) Just ask Nate from UBD….. so doing well in this could lead to a lot of work let alone showcasing your work for… about 30k + people to see

17 Keith August 28, 2008 at 3:24 pm

Oh yeah, that did come to mind. ;)

18 JumboCasher.com August 29, 2008 at 2:55 am

a reasonable price for work i guess!

19 Craig August 28, 2008 at 3:35 pm

Maybe throw in a free subscription for 6 months or more to the tools program. That would be worth it along with eveything else mentioned.

Reply

20 Reid August 28, 2008 at 4:15 pm

I think thats a great idea Craig!

Shoe – since, time is a major factor here it would help if you would supply an eps version of your logo so we don’t have to recreate it.

Reply

28 TylerC August 29, 2008 at 7:51 pm

The one supplied is more than big enough for the ad spaces we are making.

Just use the color select tool in photoshop to strip the white out and you have a transparent bg ;)

I could get a friend whos amazing at graphics to do some stuff but the deadline is way too short.

Might wait for this to come out instead of doing the $50 a month for PPC Coach as it seems a little expensive for a monthly fee.

this is not related, however, I regularly use your serps tool and it says “abuse” on it. this message has been displayed for the last week. wanted to give you a heads up

Jeremy, does this contest have any theme or something or I can make any logo that I want??

(I’m IN!!!)

Dang I wish I had popped my head in yesterday – it’s going to be a scramble but I’ll have a crack.
Any chance of a logo in vector format? someone else asked for EPS but Illustrator would also be just dandy.

51 Frank August 29, 2008 at 12:02 pm

Just curious, why don’t you go with a recurring commission instead of one time?

You’d get more business that way.

Reply

52 Jewellery August 30, 2008 at 3:02 am

That’s a good point although you have to consider the fact if people leave the system you won’t earn as much ;)

Reply

53 TylerC August 29, 2008 at 1:59 pm

Hey shoe, I think you should showcase more than just the 468×60…. That way people can get a feel for what all we made.

Or allow us a link to the rest of our ads?

Reply

54 Craig August 29, 2008 at 2:38 pm

Yeah I agree, I am having the hardest time with 468×60 but I am happy with the other 3.

Reply

55 TylerC August 29, 2008 at 3:46 pm

If not all then I would say the 125×125 would be better to go with.

Reply

56 Zac Johnson August 29, 2008 at 5:02 pm

I would agree that the 125×125 will get you the most traffic, as more bloggers have 125×125 spots on their sites, and usually aren’t sold out… so they can test your add easily enough.

Reply

57 Jewellery August 30, 2008 at 2:57 am

Send in a 125×125 like Tyler and Zac have mentioned, if its good…then it will be easily accepted.

Seems like a nice contest, and you get bragging rights for someone using your image on a site like this. But, I am no good with graphic designing, so I’m out.

You should do a post detailing your tools. That way its easy to get what one is searching for.

I agree that the 125 x 125 will be the easiest ads to deploy quickly. Most everyone has spare inventory in this size, it’s much harder to get people to give up a 160×600.
