I am guessing most of you use Google Webmaster Tools. You probably set it up like year(s) ago and its just been there running good for you…
Well did you know you can add some quick stats to your iGoogle Google homepage.
Simply go into your account… go down to tools then gadgets:
Then just pick the things you care about:
and WHOLA!!!!!!!!!!. Now for this demo I made a new tab just to show stuff for shoemoney.com but on 1 tab I have 6 content analysis from all the sites I am closely monitoring.
Great stuff:

September 9, 2008 at 5:35 am
I just prefer to log in directly into my account and get all the info I need , putting the widget in igoogle is insufficient to me ..
September 1, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Google brings more and more gadgets to us these days!

Nice quick access to google webmaster tools.

I found it very useful to link to my blog and my financial interests. It makes the interface much more user friendly.

I’m a sucker for cool and nifty things like this, thanks.

August 27, 2008 at 8:32 am
WOW! I am using Webmaster tools from such a long time now and never noticed it.. Thanks
August 27, 2008 at 5:16 am
Shoemoney, quick question with regards to the search function. Why did you change it from google to lijit?
August 27, 2008 at 3:41 am
I am trying that new guru provided by Google Webmaster Tool now, thanks!
August 26, 2008 at 11:59 pm
But the sharing part doesn’t seem to work. I “shared” a tab with another user and when he logged in he did not see the webmasters tab from my account
August 26, 2008 at 11:32 pm
This really made a difference in my life.
August 26, 2008 at 11:31 pm
It was a very handy feature, maybe google would consider my request.
August 26, 2008 at 11:24 pm
I am amazed that rather than log into your Webmaster Tools account, you can add the Webmaster Tools gadget to your iGoogle page and access information from there.

This saves me from even logging in, just boot up at work, pull up FF and viola its on my homepage. Now if I could just get someone to develop an api for wordpress comments that show on the google home page!

“Anything Google does they seem to do it the best. The best part is the also do it for free. I just hope once they completly get a monopoly on the market they don’t start adding premium tools and cutting out any useful tools they have now.”
I agree totally with this. Analytics and admanager are just 2. Google earth, etc.
August 26, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Definitely a useful/productive tip!
August 26, 2008 at 9:36 pm
It was nice of you to show the stats for your site.
Pretty amaizing how you rank so high for some of the keywords.
August 26, 2008 at 8:49 pm
I have added this to my igoogle but have have a few complaints. First, i wish there could be more tools for optimizing my sites. Still new to the seo game, I find that some of the tools are not as comprehensive as some that I have seen on other seo sites. Also, with the top ten organinic search placement, I wish you could expand the list and see more of where you are placing with other keywords and etc. Even with these small faults, it is a MUST HAVE for those looking to keep a good eye on their google seo.
August 26, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Thank you so much for pointing this out. i use iGoogle and have a ton or tabs and gadget, but not this which I could really use! Have it set up already.
August 26, 2008 at 7:10 pm
Nice tips, Jeremy – Any ways to put the tool on my blogs/sites?

Very cool, thanks shoe!
Is there anyway to add analytics info?
August 26, 2008 at 8:13 pm
That would be great to have analytics on there as well, maybe even adsense/ad manager data in the future as well would make it easy for quick reference.
August 26, 2008 at 5:38 pm
Hey, great tip. I’ve always wanted something like this for my iGoogle
August 26, 2008 at 5:22 pm
What a great feature. I saw some of the other widgets they offer but hadn’t real explored those items, until now. Thanx!
August 26, 2008 at 5:13 pm
WOW, that looks fantastic. Think I finally found a useful way to use iGoogle.
August 26, 2008 at 4:30 pm
It would be nice to see the folks that created the Adobe Air app for Analytics add the webmaster Tools feateure too, I have never been a fan of iGoogle for some reason.

If only the webmaster tools pagerank stats would be more accurate
August 26, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Google has really done a great job with webmaster tools. The information that they provide is extremely useful especially the top search queries section.
They just recently released a script to give you a basic 404 page as well located under the Tools section. Considering most sites have a basic 404 page, Webmaster Tools provides a search box and related urls. Wrote a post about it as well as a series on webmaster tools on my blog.
August 27, 2008 at 4:58 am
The 404 page is a nice feature, but I still prefer to not have any 404’s!
August 28, 2008 at 5:50 am
I don’t know anything about page 404. What is it?
August 26, 2008 at 2:29 pm
That is pretty gosh darn awesome, adding that to my igoogle right now.
August 26, 2008 at 2:22 pm
Wow cool. I am actually in Webmaster Tools all the time but never noticed this great feature. Thanks J I am goin to set it up now
August 26, 2008 at 2:00 pm
That’s a cool tip indeed, but what a way to transform voilá to WHOLA! hehe
August 26, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Pretty nice Shoemoney, Thanks for the tip. I will look at it more closely.
August 26, 2008 at 1:17 pm
How well do these handle multiple sites in an account? I have something like 120 sites in my GWT account, half of which are mine and half belong to clients. I don’t need to monitor *all* of them to that degree, but there are probably a dozen all told that I have to keep pretty close tabs on.
(Get it? tabs? tabs? ork ork ork)
Hunh, my iGoogle already has eight tabs on it, what’s another one…
August 26, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Yeah…nice one shoe. I need to start using that too. Would be nice if they came up with a firefox ext that did everything.
August 27, 2008 at 8:52 am
I don’t get it. What could a Firefox extension ‘do’? There isn’t much that webmaster tools ‘does’, it’s more informational than anything.
August 26, 2008 at 1:02 pm
Wow I never thought to go look for that. That is way more efficient than logging into my account for a quick 50K view of what’s going on.
August 26, 2008 at 12:37 pm
True, webmaster tools give you access to a large number of vital stats, but these stats are more localized to googles search results. Anyways, Shoe, google has been going around trying to promote webmaster tools on igoogle too… so isn’t this kind of a repetitive post or something?
August 27, 2008 at 1:05 pm
Repetitive post? Ha, this coming from the 3rd in the top commentators list with 22 comments. Anyone else seeing the humour in this?
August 26, 2008 at 12:36 pm
looks great….thanks for posting…I wasn’t aware of this new features…last time I accessed my google webmaster account was months ago
August 27, 2008 at 9:07 am
I see this is really quite nice.
August 26, 2008 at 12:35 pm
I found this awhile back and added to my google page, which is my browser homepage. It rocks! I love that it also provides easy links to each of the sections, which used to be annoying to get to without bookmarking.
August 26, 2008 at 2:39 pm
I haven’t added this yet but need to asap. Seems really cool. Are the updates realtime or close?
August 27, 2008 at 4:56 am
I think some of the updates will depend on how often your page
is crawled – for example the links stats.
August 26, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Webmaster Tools Very user friendly also cant beat google lol
August 26, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I have already added the gadget and works cool.
August 27, 2008 at 8:37 am
Ha, me too. I added it as soon as it was available. I removed it about an hour later. I realized that I have way too many sites, and I much prefer to just go to Webmaster Tools than try to use a different interface to access the information.
