The ShoeMoney Show Is Back!

by Jeremy Schoemaker on July 30, 2008 · 56 comments

Yesterday Jen and I did the first show in like a month! I still suck at doing all the live video stuff but its getting better. We talked about lots of topics everything from the Top Affiliate Challenge to everything that has been going on in the search industry to the obligatory twitter talk.

Keep forgetting to check if there is going to be a show or not

Sweet. I loved watching the show previously. Maybe you can get a bi-weekly sched. or something. I know it’s tough.

Glad to see another show. I agree the video was better than the last one. Hope to see these on a regular basis.

Yeah, there was an odd delay on live that hasn’t been there before, not sure if Ustream was having issues. The replay seemed to be ok though. We do take questions from the chat room though, and we should be on a more regular schedule now :)

On Digg not being as valuable (which I agree with), you think it’s been kind of displaced by Twitter?

Not sure the best way to do it, but if you upload a copy of your show to YouTube, us iphone snobs can view the video. Could also include a link to an mp3 version of the show. Hopefully the iPhone will support flash soon….but until then we’ll have to suffer.

Here’s a link on ustream giving info on how to download your ustream videos to other formats.

just a random idea… :)

glad to see you guys back on.. i thought the show was a lil slow. I think if you guys spent 15 minutes before hand and ran down the topics, looked up a few metrics so you dont have to get them on the fly, things would move along a lil more smoothly.

Any chance of getting an MP3 version of the show? I just wanna listen to you on the commute – don’t really want to watch you ; )

Maybe pickup a couple local college film students to shoot and bring the show up in production quality. As always content is king, which is what you’ve got, but you could have a professional show for basically free.

Less than a year ago (December) Digg was supposed to be worth $300 Million. That’s 50% more than the $200 mill now.

Didn’t Alexa just change their algorithm?

I guess this is the petition you talked about. So far it has 14 signatures. Signatures however have very little meaning.

Can we get an MP3, for the folks who don’t always have time to watch the video? :)

Reply

33 Matt Leo July 31, 2008 at 12:08 pm

I caught the last 10 minutes of it by fluke. Good job, live is a whole different ball game and you need to be really on to keep things flowing. Spontaneity is good but a tight schedule of topics would def help flow. I had some echo and Jen talking over herself, not sure if you guys experienced that issue on your end or it was just me. MP3 would be good for sure.

The opening shot of Jeremy turning into super-shoe is worth it alone! The sound effects need some help though…..LOL!!!

What did you do to upset these 15 people? lol

Reply

38 Web Marketeer July 31, 2008 at 2:46 pm

Agreed, now if only I can figure out how to watch this without having to resort to splitting it up into episodes…..eish!

The Ad appears correctly, but there’s a marketleap logo that appears in the lower right.

Live is also a lot harder to do than a pre-recorded event. It makes for interesting bloopers.

46 Enkay Blog August 1, 2008 at 12:09 am

I would really like to know myself. Seems like it wasn’t really bad since only 15 people have signed.

I noticed that something has happened with my Alexa ranking and it could definitely be a result of the algorithm change. Not sure though. Anyone have any input?

I was speaking with someone and was telling them that Digg was valued at a higher price and 200 mill didn’t seem like much compared to their previous offer. Wonder whats going on there.
