New Top Level Domain extension opening tomorrow .me. The .me TLD was intended to make more money be the new “hip” space for you… I guess .name was not cool enough.
Anyway there is no wonky requirements and with a “me” ending people should be able to come up with some fun sounding (and hard to type) domains.
So hit me with your best/funniest .me idea! I wont register them… trust.me

Shoe, you need an edit feature :p
July 20, 2008 at 3:13 am
This could be fun…
Here’s a few-
take.me
show.me
who.me
dontforget.me
will be interesting what others come down the pike…
July 19, 2008 at 9:46 am
its but no one will know what it is
July 19, 2008 at 3:08 am
i like .me its short and sweet.
I got a few killer ones
July 18, 2008 at 3:03 pm
Yeah so many extensions. Some of them are so useless
July 18, 2008 at 1:04 pm
um… inco.me is a landrush auction. you waited too long to register. the auction starts tuesday.. godaddy simply did not put that list into their database
July 18, 2008 at 10:41 am
Just what we need more domains…haha
July 18, 2008 at 10:40 am
Copyright infringement?
July 18, 2008 at 10:39 am
Thats who I use. I like them a lot.
July 18, 2008 at 6:40 am
However, I think that the final version has already been selected.
July 18, 2008 at 6:12 am
I think that you can find a heap of pretty names.
July 17, 2008 at 7:29 pm
ah I see. Thats where you got the fuck.me idea from. Good old jonh chow
July 17, 2008 at 4:54 pm
I think it already broke. A lot of my attempts resulted in ‘The following domain name has failed to be registered…’ e-mails.
July 17, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Not offensive at all. The way I see it, it is just another way to make money… for the registrar, Montenegro, and myself. Almost all of the good domains are taken on the .COM TLD, but the domain you mentioned is even longer than the one i registered. In addition, i believe that Web 2.0, and so on, are going to be more about the users’ personal experience and a .ME domain just ‘brings it all home’ for them. Everyone wants the world to revolve around them, so this is one way of appealing to and fulfilling that niche.
July 17, 2008 at 4:33 pm
You’re gonna break Go Daddy.com!
(OK this was posted after the fact, and I just wanted to look psychic!)
July 17, 2008 at 3:17 pm
hi,
sorry if i am offensive, but why would you want to book long names?
i would rather book myspacelayoutsforme.com rather than myspacelayoutsfor.me
i appreciate the effort, but i guess it is pointless
July 17, 2008 at 3:15 pm
I know that i ll be refunded, if the domain is not mine.
I booked only single word domains like ship.me, ping.me, aim.me and so on.
The point is i need the domains. If i get my money back, its bad.
July 17, 2008 at 2:12 pm
Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.me
July 17, 2008 at 1:52 pm
.Com is the standard, by-far. there is no question.
i wouldn’t build a site on .Me, even though it’s a prime keyword.
the only people buying .me are domain speculators.
(unless you’re able to get a high, good single word – it’s basically useless)
and even then, it’s still a relative crapshoot
July 17, 2008 at 1:41 pm
I had that for 2 of mine.
got the already registered email for both. Checked back an hour later and one of them disappeared and the other got confirmed and registered.
So for those ones they may be doing something to see who registered first….my best guess.
July 17, 2008 at 1:33 pm
that means that someone else registered those domains before you…don’t worry as you will be refunded.
July 17, 2008 at 1:26 pm
let me see if I understand this…you can register a domain, pay for it and if someone else also wants to register that domain both of you would have to bid on it ? it sucks if it is so.
July 17, 2008 at 1:20 pm
I would also like to know what this means:
“Status: Reconcile (Refresh Page) “
July 17, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Ryan,
Good report. I hope you get to keep them.
I wonder how many millions of dollars that GoDaddy took in today, and even if they only have to refund most of it in a couple of days they have made the interest on our money.
Dirty rassafrassers.
July 17, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Yeah, same thing happened to me. Their registration process for .ME domains seems to be different. I know thousands of people must’ve been fighting for a lot of the same domains at the same time. I struck out more on good domains than on not-so-good ones, but some of the ones I’m more proud are here…
HOTLAYOUTSFOR.ME
WORDPRESSTHEMESFOR.ME
GREATBLOGABOUT.ME
TEMPLATESFOR.ME
FREE-STUFF-FOR.ME
DOTHISFOR.ME
MYSPACELAYOUTSFOR.ME
BUYTHISFOR.ME
What do you all think? I got lots of ideas to develop for these. They should keep me busy for a while.
Hey, Shoe… how many of the ones that you wanted did you get?
I think if everyone trying to register .ME domains was in the same room, there would’ve been bloodshed!
July 17, 2008 at 1:10 pm
godaddy just sucks!!
godaddy is one of the resellers, the list of booked names is maintained by domain.me
So, when godaddy books a domain, it has to look in to the BIG BOOK. Looks like, it is not the reality though.
The second possibility is that there are some evil crooks, snatching off good names.
I m inclined to think that the second one is true..
July 17, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Subject: cheated by godaddy???
Thanks for the “.me” domain post. It gave me a head start. I was ready signed in and with the list of domains in my stickies.
I was happy i got a lot of very good domains, The amount was deducted from my paypal. i even got an email saying order successful. But i do not see these domain names listed in my account.
An hour later, i get an email from godaddy, stating that the domain could not be registered.
Is godaddy cheating me?
I booked ship.me , ping.me, ebook.me, joy.me and many others.
Need your expert advice from you as well as your readers
July 17, 2008 at 12:52 pm
So at the end of the day, GoDaddy dropped the ball big time. Checkout how it went down.
GoDaddy Drops the Ball on .Me
July 17, 2008 at 12:45 pm
That’s what I thought, waiting for the email…
July 17, 2008 at 12:38 pm
You sure you got it? Just wait for the email from GoDaddy saying they could not register and you will be issued a refund.
July 17, 2008 at 12:35 pm
I just bought google.me (got the receipt and email from godaddy).
Am I going to be sued by google?
July 17, 2008 at 12:32 pm
PeeOn.me
July 17, 2008 at 12:29 pm
All the domains I registered got snatched away as well – GoDaddy API FTL
July 17, 2008 at 12:16 pm
In my Godaddy account the status for one of my domain says RECONCILE. What the hell does that mean?
July 17, 2008 at 11:59 am
I was there the moment it opened…but my rep told me they go by the millisecond – so someone was obviously there the moment BEFORE me!
July 17, 2008 at 11:56 am
Yea, i had receipts for:
style.me , glamour.me , quote.me , rank.me , coach.me , tutor.me , china.me , investing.me , wallstreet.me , entrepreneur.me , insure.me , lucky.me , ani.me
to name a few… i didn’t get any of them despite having it go through in the first minute or two
July 17, 2008 at 11:54 am
Same here. Picked up 5 and haven’t seen the show up either
July 17, 2008 at 11:52 am
Waited an hour, actually forgot, but then bought 3 pretty cool ones. Got a receipt and a confirmation email and I don’t see anything about these going to the highest bidder.
However when I sign in, the three new ones are not in my list of owned domains yet.
Probably takes some time to get posted.
July 17, 2008 at 11:49 am
I feel your pain Derek! I have a receipt for Inco.me – and the PSYCH! Email form GoDaddy as well!
Wow does THAT ever suck!
July 17, 2008 at 11:38 am
which ones?
July 17, 2008 at 11:36 am
I got 7 – some of which I’m very very surprised were still available so maybe I’ll get one of those “already registered” emails.
I didn’t even try and grab any until 9am PST, either.
July 17, 2008 at 11:18 am
GoDaddy NOOOOOOOOOOO…. please stop messing with me!
July 17, 2008 at 11:13 am
Got 3 on the way. Damn Godaddy ( I know I know). I had please.me in the cart, then Godaddy 404′d all over the place. I was on that domain with 1 second left on the clock. Oh well.
July 17, 2008 at 11:11 am
Well I had 3 go threw, and no email yet saying it isnt happening! I am still hoping!
July 17, 2008 at 11:09 am
Anyone actually getting their name registered? Everything I have tried is getting rejected…
July 17, 2008 at 11:05 am
Omg, they’re all getting taken from me!
July 17, 2008 at 10:58 am
I did nt get that email yet… Waiting to see what happens! The domains are not in my domain manager yet!
July 17, 2008 at 10:52 am
We’ll see what happens but I just registered “You.Me”. It’s still coming up as available though
http://www.jaygeiger.com/index.php/2008/07/17/just-registered-youme/
July 17, 2008 at 10:46 am
I just got that stupid e-mail for one of mine too.
July 17, 2008 at 10:34 am
none of which are appearing in my domains folder, yet i have receipts and was billed for it.
July 17, 2008 at 10:34 am
Shoe, could you slow down your API calls just a little, I can’t get through!
July 17, 2008 at 10:33 am
Well, it says I own the domains now. We will see what happens!
July 17, 2008 at 10:33 am
I got about 10 so far
July 17, 2008 at 10:33 am
I got a receipt for my domain….then an email shortly after stating: cannot register – already registered. We will evaluate this error and retry the registration if appropriate.
If we are unable to successfully register the domain name, your account will be credited accordingly. Please allow one business day for the refund to be processed.
July 17, 2008 at 10:29 am
I have a feeling there are going to be alot of refunds happening here! What domain did you get?
July 17, 2008 at 10:27 am
So, if i got a receipt for the domain and said i paid for it, that means im fine? right? haha.
July 17, 2008 at 10:24 am
I clicked checkout about 10 minutes ago! Waiting to see what happens!
July 17, 2008 at 10:14 am
I sure hope that once you add to the cart and click “process payment” the domain is yours.
Cause it has been trying to run my card through the cart for like 13 minutes now on my domains.
July 17, 2008 at 10:12 am
GoDaddy is getting roughed up a bit. Hopefully I can get through here.
July 17, 2008 at 10:07 am
GoDaddy has died… It is sad… I had the 3 domains I wanted, and BLAH!
July 17, 2008 at 10:06 am
GoDaddy is choking hardcore.
July 17, 2008 at 9:33 am
If I were still studying voice, I would have tried to get meme.me
July 17, 2008 at 8:50 am
If people adapt to the .me extension and will actually type it in, values will increase on the clever domains, otherwise, I can’t imagine people paying a premium for domains people will remember, but likely struggle to type in.
July 17, 2008 at 8:44 am
Everyone’s first thought, I’m sure. Honestly, this is one of the very FEW .me domains that makes any sense, as I’m sure it will get TONS of type in traffic (especially in the initial period when people are curious about .me domains)
July 17, 2008 at 8:42 am
People who think .me will be massively successful are delusional. Sure, there will be some domains that have success, but overall, it will be another domain that struggles to draw type-in traffic. Even memorable domains (like your buy.me example) will be typed in by people as buyme.com – it’s just so natural for people to do.
July 17, 2008 at 8:41 am
I’m afraid that I am.
July 17, 2008 at 8:01 am
And yet:
listen.me
Feel.me
July 17, 2008 at 6:23 am
Here is the premium list that you cannot have too ! http://www.domen.me/cms/site_files/dotME_Premium_Names.txt
I think most of what is discussed here are already taken.
July 17, 2008 at 6:04 am
why everyone is thinking of only dirty possibilities ?
July 17, 2008 at 5:38 am
I’ll pay the $100,000 to start .YOU TLD extension.
and fuck.you all
j/k
July 17, 2008 at 5:20 am
are you gonna reveal some of them after they are yours ?
July 17, 2008 at 4:33 am
The imagination goes wild on the possible combinations..
July 17, 2008 at 3:54 am
do.me
July 17, 2008 at 3:40 am
It is a free for all. That phase already happened.
July 17, 2008 at 12:38 am
There are so many dirty possibilities
I think they have all probably been commented already…:
fuck.me
shiton.me
blow.me
You get the point… dirty mind
July 17, 2008 at 12:34 am
Well I am going to try for a few… will see what happens!
July 17, 2008 at 12:25 am
typo – the free-for-all-like period, not the sunrise period.
Shoe, you need an edit feature :p
July 17, 2008 at 12:23 am
To godaddy users – make sure to read the fine print. You don’t get the domain name just because you are the first to ask for it. The “sunrise” period which is about to start will simply be to collect the first batch of requests. If nobody else tries to grab the domain you want, it’s yours. If someone else DOES try to buy the same one… it gets auctioned off between all people who asked for it. Highest bidder gets it.
Also, forget asking for “google.me” because all trademark terms will go to those who prove trademark… even if they aren’t first to ask for it.
It’s not a free-for-all
July 17, 2008 at 12:14 am
The play will be on. I think this one will be a lot more popular then the previous TLDs just because you can make so many different memorable phrases.
YourdaughterLoves.me
Shesdoing.me
(hername)doing.me
Youcanthave.me (a site with megan fox on it)
MenWant.me (a site with Megan Fox on it)
GuysWanttodo.me ( a site with Megan Fox on it)
Did I tell you I have a site with Megan Fox on it.
July 17, 2008 at 12:01 am
P.S. Godaddy is going to make a killing at 40 bucks a pop (two years registration required).
July 16, 2008 at 11:59 pm
areyoukidding.me ?
No seriously… .me domain names are going to spank the .com marketing industry. Why? People love themselves far too much not to go for a .me if it’s available.
You’ve been warned!
buy.me – nice and subliminal baby!
July 16, 2008 at 11:33 pm
hmm 40 bucks a pop ay… have to be choosy.
July 16, 2008 at 11:27 pm
Sweet! Now I can finally start my Def Leppard fan site:
http://poursomesugaron.me
(actually a decent keyword domain according to wordtracker
July 16, 2008 at 11:21 pm
lem.me sue you
July 16, 2008 at 11:10 pm
I’m sure that if you get a good name that it could be worth SOMETHING
July 16, 2008 at 11:09 pm
I think the homeless can now have their own domain at “feed.me”
July 16, 2008 at 11:09 pm
Yeah thats true, the domains that are 3 letters are also sold for premiums because of how short they are usually.
July 16, 2008 at 11:08 pm
hahaha, props on that!
July 16, 2008 at 11:07 pm
Thanks for the coupons Andrew, those will come in handy!
July 16, 2008 at 11:07 pm
I’m sure he will be compenstated though..maybe.. lol
July 16, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Im actually pretty positive that those names have always been “backordered” because I would doubt that companies like microsoft, google, yahoo would even want that happening.
July 16, 2008 at 11:06 pm
hahaha, I’m surprised John was the first to post a comment but nevertheless, great concept there John.
July 16, 2008 at 10:22 pm
Guarantee these are gone but how about:
review.me
do.me
yougottabeshitting.me
areyoutalkingto.me
July 16, 2008 at 9:53 pm

shoemoneyhates.me, shoemoneyloves.me
July 16, 2008 at 7:46 pm
I remember seeing this a few moments after it was released on godaddy and i started furiously registering all the best domain names I could come up with, after I had about 50 or so I went to pay and found out it wasn’t even open for a month plus you had to pay for two years for each domain and you weren’t even guaranteed the domain. If someone else pre-registers the same domain then it goes into a bidding war. I don’t think the .me domain will be that popular, just like all the other barely used ones out there unless you have a name ending in “me” it might be good, other than that .com is the way to go. There’s going to be many more domain suffixes coming out in the not too distant future.
July 16, 2008 at 7:46 pm
What sucks about this release is that this the the third phase in the TLD name. First is the Sunrise phase where trademarks can claim their names first. Second is the Landrush period open to the public which was back in June. According to MarketWatch over 30,000 names have already been registered including the ones I am sure that will be listed here.
July 16, 2008 at 7:36 pm
July 17 15:00 UTC: Open Registration
http://www.domain.me/index.php?page=15#1
July 16, 2008 at 7:34 pm
Cumon.me
July 16, 2008 at 7:33 pm
Trademarks are already registered, as are many of the .me domains which are now up for auction for those who tried to get them during the “land rush” period. If 2 people tried to register the same .me domain, its now up for auction between those people. The auction for the domain I tried to get starts on August 3rd, so I’m stuck waiting.
July 16, 2008 at 7:32 pm
whatabout.me?
July 16, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Do they go on sale at midnight or something? If so…midnight what time?
July 16, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Meh. A year ago I would have snapped up shamess.me in a second, since it’s more personalised, and I’ve never reallyed liked .name extentions. But, I’m happy using shamess.info now; I’ve kind of gotten over the requirement to have a “cool” TLD.
July 16, 2008 at 7:24 pm
I think there’s a three letter minimum limit on domains these days.
July 16, 2008 at 7:22 pm
I’m betting Google and Yahoo will have a number of employees all submitting for that name as soon as they can. No point in getting it though, they’re both trademarks and you’ll likely lose them.
July 16, 2008 at 7:18 pm
im gonna guess i will take a i.me domain
July 16, 2008 at 7:16 pm
Any decent word is already being held back as “premium”. Check out http://www.domen.me/cms/site_files/dotME_Premium_Names.txt for more details.
July 16, 2008 at 7:02 pm
Most of the popular names were bought months ago, what about shoe.me?

July 16, 2008 at 6:52 pm
do.me, youwant.me, hate.me
me.me, i.me, you.me
endless possibilities
July 16, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Since we are all internet marketer, how about
PAY.ME
July 16, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Yeah, this will be one of the first to be registered I’m sure!
July 16, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Actually, the .me TLD was intended to be neither of those things. It was intended – and *is* – nothing more than the country specific TLD for Montenegro.
July 16, 2008 at 6:40 pm
How about consumersonlytrustdotcom.me? Unless you’re making something very original that could use a fun domain name, like del.icio.us, I don’t see the need.
July 16, 2008 at 6:33 pm
f***.me
July 16, 2008 at 6:33 pm
Shoe
Are their high volume domain name buyers who have automated tools to go in and swoop up all the good names in the first few seconds?
Do you just use the normal GoDaddy interface or is there some sort of API for quick high volume purchasing?
July 16, 2008 at 6:32 pm
Yeah, I heard .me’s were coming. Seems kinda redundant with that new thing coming around where there can be any domain suffix.
July 16, 2008 at 6:29 pm
sue.me
July 16, 2008 at 6:18 pm
ani.me
words that end with me
July 16, 2008 at 6:17 pm
La.me is best URL that describes this TLD.
July 16, 2008 at 6:16 pm
I need to pay attention to these things, I wouldn’t have realized it was happening tomorrow if you hadn’t posted!
July 16, 2008 at 6:09 pm
BTW
Estimated initial pricing will be $19.99/yr (Two year minimum registration required)
July 16, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Kevin, you beat me to it – ok then byte.me for the geeks
Oh, and someone will have to get F#$%.me

July 16, 2008 at 6:05 pm

July 16, 2008 at 6:01 pm
