AzoogleAds Check Featured On Photoshop Disasters
Saw a bunch of new unique visitors (a stat that I actually care about) coming from http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com/2008/06/azoogle-this-was-really-well-thought.html. They featured the fake check/picture that AzoogleAds used in a few magazine ads like over a year ago.
The really cool stat is that the users stayed around an average of 3 minutes coming from the gallery and reading posts and some even subscribing the the feed. Welcome new users!
Its pretty awesome to get traffic from sources outside of your niche.
The thread was doing really well until one of their ace detectives quoted text from the page:

Anonymous said…The original page actually states that it’s a poor photoshop:
“This is not a real check it was for a Magazine Ad for AzoogleAds. Yes its photoshop’d (badly). It was an amazingly good campaign for them. Its been on numerous websites who think they have discovered it was fake… even though it says it here. Good for traffic ;).”
The other comments are pretty hilarious including one about they should have photoshopped in a toupee too lol!
Anyway check it out:

[Reply]
Haha. nice. I hadn’t seen that photo before!
[Reply]
Great site, had some good minutes laughing about the pictures. Thanks!

Nice, the more the merrier!

I wonder if this post will make people wonder whether or not the Shoemoney AdSense check is Photoshopped? It looks authentic to me.

maybe u should run a photoshop contest, see who can come up with the best photoshoped image or maybe a caption contest.
[Reply]
how do these idiots even think it’s real in the first place, its so obviously not lol
[Reply]
The facts are there is people actually making that much money more then what people think
[Reply]
Yeah, you notice the lack of a reflection right away.
[Reply]
Maybe you can have a “Fix This Photo” contest?
[Reply]

[Reply]
LOL! It does say “hunderd” hahaha

One of the commenters: “The model has such a smart ass look on his face. Hahah.”
Jeremy, you’re a model!

Its awesome to get hits from something outside your niche. it just happened to me the other day, someone from moneycentral at msn picked up on a comment I wrote on another blog and I got a ton of hits that day (a ton by my standards, not yours, i’m sure)
[Reply]
never really noticed it says hunderd lol
[Reply]
I enjoy photoshopped anything, will check it out now!
[Reply]
Thats pretty funny. Any press is good press.
[Reply]
Damn! Well anyway, I still enjoy an ad check of any kind if its got a lot of money written on it, it’s still motivating none the less!
[Reply]
I’ve been reading that photoshop site for over an hour now!!! It’s great how bad some pics are edited. haah.
Cheers for the link shoe!
[Reply]
Nice one Shoe..is your check edited too? Just kidding..huhu
[Reply]
Hey, you do know how to smile!
[Reply]
what that check was fake??? what a scam!
[Reply]
I think it did the trick. Because of the controversy over the original check, spelling hundred wrong and the obvious photoshop is the icing on the cake. I liked it.
[Reply]
The best part: P S D added their own watermark to this image, somehow claiming it as theirs.
[Reply]
i had seen some of most obvious scammer here in Malaysia. Trust me, there is worser out there
[Reply]
Its amazing what you can do with a photograph these days. Nice link.
[Reply]
That is the most hilarious thing I’ve seen in a minute!
[Reply]
