I also have used the waybackmachine to see how big sites have grown and the changes they have made. It seems everyone wants to make Shoemoney money, but in 30-60 days. There are lots of great ideas out there to be developed, but just keep in mind that it takes perseverance to get there. Oh, and if it's a Web 2.0 site, please please please stay away from site URLs that have no vowels or cute spellings. I'm sure there are some great web apps out there that I will never find because of crazy URL spellings. That's my opinion anyway.
