Just got some new niche magazines and was really cool seeing some friends on the covers.
Jason Calacanis appointed the new face off Affiliate Marketing on the cover of Affiliate Summits “Feed Front” Magazine. The cover of the first ever Affiliate Summit mag reads “Close Encounters Of The Calacanis Kind” no doubt referring to all the attention Jason has brought to the affiliate industry. You can say what you want about Calacanis but very few people know how to generate buzz like him. Inside the magazine there is a great article by super affiliate Zac Johnson about how to become the next super affiliate blogger. There is also a really interesting article about affiliate employees salaries. According to the chart 55% of affiliate managers do recieve incentive bonuses (thats much lower then what I thought) and 60% make less then 50k per year (thats MUCH lower then what I had thought. It goes into much greater detail in the article.
Also just got my copy of this months Linux Journal Magazine and was presently surprised to see Elite Retreat speaker and wordpress founder Matt Mullenweg on the cover. The article inside with Matt is a very long Q&A interview about open source, the future of blogging and what its like being a “open source crusader”.
Nice job guys.
Also I wold like to thank seo shirts for the “SEO Sucks” t-shirt. Pretty funny!
And speaking of SEO Joost de Valk just wrote a interesting post about wordpress seo on his blog. Go read it!

Surprised you can actually find the time to read mags lol. I can’t even keep up with all my subs and usually only get any real reading done on the throne lol.
Sound like a few good articles. Zac mentioned that you can download the digital version of feedfront for those that aren’t getting it.

Interesting. Very neat to see those guys on there. Matt on Linux Journal cover?

June 10, 2008 at 7:48 pm
I like the shirt! I should maybe check in to those magazines, but I know I would never had time to read them :S
June 10, 2008 at 7:54 pm
i think both of them have appeared in many magazines already as a cover
June 10, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Agree with Rita about smiling and also with Melvin. Is cool that you are friends with the Wordpress founder!
June 10, 2008 at 8:18 pm

May I ask where you purchased these? It sucks being in Australia because I wanted to subscribe to the .net magazine from the UK but the only international subscription you could get was for the US
June 11, 2008 at 6:31 am

June 11, 2008 at 7:24 am
hehehe.. yes SEO suck!
June 11, 2008 at 7:39 am
excellent cover of our industry. This is awesome and very motivating!
June 11, 2008 at 8:47 am
The shirt is awesome. But to be featured on the front pages of LinuxJournal or FeedFront it does take quite a lot, most of us will never get there anyway – regardless of how much they’ll earn.
June 11, 2008 at 8:48 am
When are we going to see you on a cover Shoe?
June 11, 2008 at 9:22 am
I like that you recognize people for their talents rather than bitch that they played outside the rules or are a jerk, miser, etc… Too often the things we can learn from those succeeding is clouded by people whining about ever little thing.
June 11, 2008 at 10:50 am
The shirt is the best part of the photo, ha
June 11, 2008 at 11:28 am
Your T-Shirt is probably giving a wrong message to kids
June 11, 2008 at 12:12 pm
T-shirt is really good. I will buy for me too.
June 11, 2008 at 12:58 pm
The industry is getting big. I am calling it now that the internet will surpass TV in advertising dollars. I need to get huge soon so I can cash in.
June 11, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Also that’s a much better photo of you than some shown previously. Either different camera or the lighting in the room. Surprised there is not a blue/green screen shoemoney room for filming & photo shoots.
June 11, 2008 at 6:03 pm
don’t stare too hard at the sun as you come out of the cave. it has been up for a while…
June 11, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Dude, are you wearing makeup in that photo? WTF
June 12, 2008 at 8:08 am
How about Shoe on the cover of Time? When you sell this blog for a billion about you’ll be on there…
June 12, 2008 at 8:44 am
Still waiting on my print copy, but got to read the digital. I liked it! Thanks for the mention too!
June 12, 2008 at 9:27 am
Nice shirt! But it’s not Friday yet!
June 12, 2008 at 11:51 am
Calacanis must love you for all the SEO bashing you do! I guess you are right, he does know how to generate buzz.
June 12, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Jerk: When you are more successfull than me and don’t help me all the time.
June 15, 2008 at 2:08 am
Like the shirt! What about you making Businessweek?
