UFC83 Serra vs. St-Pierre 2

By Jeremy Schoemaker 39 comments

ufc83

Pretty good card for tomorrow nights UFC 83 event in Montreal.

Georges St. Pierre (-500) vs. Matt Serra (+300)

George St. Pierre probably wins this fight 75% of the time but as we saw in there first fight anything can happen. +300 for the underdog Matt Serra is to hard for me to lay off of. I am picking GSP to win but am betting on the terra to pull of another upset.

Rich Franklin (-350) vs. Travis Lutter (+250)

I REALLY like Travis Lutter to win this fight. He looked pretty good in his fight against Anderson Silva and if he can mount Anderson Silva then he can definetely mount Rich Franklin. I like the underdog Travis Lutter to win and I also betting on him.

Nathan Quarry (-265) vs. Kalib Starnes (+205)

Me and dillsmack talked to Kalib Starnes after UFC 77 in Cincinatti he was a really nice kid for someone who had a HUGE gash in his head and got rocked pretty good the night before. I also think he has to much for Nate Quarry and wins this fight pretty easily.

Michael Bisping (-330) vs. Charles McCarthy (+260)

This fight pisses me off. Michael Bisping seems like such a terd. The UFC keeps matching him up with cans so he can headline the UK event and they will have a UK fighter with a decent record. I would love to bet against him but unfortunatly Charles McCarthy hasnt ever fought anyone decent and …. hasnt fought for 2 years. Should be a great fight… not.

Mac Danzig (-550) vs. Mark Bocek (+350)

Frickin love Danzig although -550 is too much for me to put action on. I think Danzig will be far to aggressive for Bocek and I look for him to win by RNC early in the first round.

Jason MacDonald (-165) vs. Joe Doerksen (+135)

I like Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald in this fight. We actually were working on a deal to sponsor him but then this fight was removed off of the PPV TV card. I am betting on MacDonald.

Alan Belcher (-450) vs. Jason Day (+300)

Not touching this fight. Belcher should win but -450 is a bit much.

Ed Herman (+140) vs. Demian Maia (-180)

I like “short fuse” to win this fight and am betting on him.

Rich Clementi (+120) vs. Sam Stout (-160)

This is a very tough fight to pick. If it stays up top Stout should make quick work of Clementi. If the fight goes to the ground then Rich Clementi is pretty dangerous from anywhere. I just have the feeling Clementi will push the pace for a takedown a little to hard and get caught with a Sam Stout uppercut that puts him to sleep for the night.

Brad Morris (+200) vs. Cain Velasquez (-260)

Staying away from this fight. Dunno much about the fighters.

Kuniyoshi Hironaka (-240) vs. Jonathan Goulet (+190)

Goulet has looked pretty impressive lately and he should win this fight pretty easily. Decent line on this one but unfortunately its not on bodog =(

All in all should be a great card!

I’m super pumped to watch this fight. It’s going to be in Canada with I think is cool for GSP as well!

GSP is going to win this fight. Serra is a GREAT fighter, but GSP isn’t going to lose again to Serra.

GSP lost once to Hughes and that was it. He DOMINATED the 2nd fight!

    He’ll dominate Serra tomorrow night!

I’m from Montreal and this town loves UFC. Personally I’m not a fan but many this city is crazy for it. I think I read in the news paper today that It will be a record crowd watching the fight tonight… If the bring even 1/10th of what they bring to hockey games it will be crazy.

Big fan of GSP. He’s the favorite to win for a reason!

He is also the only one with anything to lose, which makes the pressure on him huge.

I think you are giving matt serra too much credit with 75%. I would say GSP wins 95% of the time!

Was in Vegas this past weekend and was impressed to see how much action and interest there was around UFC. Funny how different things appear when you begin paying attention.

Seeing your previous UFC bets, I’d bet against everyone that Shoemoney likes. Although, I too like Travis Lutter to beat Rich “Jim Carey” Franklin.

Save your money and bet the house on BJ Penn next month against Sean Steroids.

Just like pierre lost to hughes first time, and then rocked him nasty the second time. Same thign will happen again. Peirre had a lot of mental problems before the last fight and it showed, this time i bet everything he comes out a different person and is going to embarass serra

Im ready to see GSP back with a vengeance. GSP is one of the fastest guys in the UFC I think he will come on very strong plus he is fighting in Canada.

You’re definitely giving Serra too much credit. And GSP has become an absolutely fantastic fighter - I love watching him fight.

This time Serra is going down so bad it’s not even going to be funny.

Unbelievable….whatever Shoemoney likes just bet the opposite.

GSP is scary good! Would like to see BJ Penn fight him again as the first match was very, very close. Both fighters are considerably better from their first bout, but Penn has to first get by Sherk.

Pound for pound - which is really a very overused term in sports - Anderson Silva and GSP reign supreme in the UFC. Watchout for Urijah Faber in the WEC as well. The California Kid is the real deal at 145.

Georges St. Pierre dominated Matt Serra in a second-round TKO and reclaimed his welterweight title. The crowd was deafening and probably gave GSP and extra bit of adrenelin, not that he needed any.

Kalib will never get another fight in the UFC. It was embarrassing to think he actually put his name on a contract to ‘fight’

Travis gassing after the first round was also very disappointing.

It was nice to see Matt gracious in defeat as he knew he was outclassed and not even close to the fighter that GSP is. He had his well deserved 15 min. of UFC fame. He is a good draw and we will see another quality fight for him soon, he will need to win to stay in any sort of spotlight in the 170 class.

I felt this was a suboptimal fight night!

Wow, you got some nice hobbies, Shoe! Your fighters site is really cool, with your obvious marketing skills it will be a great success. Have bookmarked it and will follow it. I think the trick here is going to be regular fresh fight news, but also maybe look at doing things like posting workouts, fighting tips and tricks, diet info, recovery info, etc
