Soap opera alright ! Google can't stand the though of anyone getting close and their arrogance is sickening. May just get a little too big for their own boots and let's see what happens. They remind me of someone who got too much money too soon, didn'y know how to carry that responsibility, and lost the lot. A very wealthy man told me about this principle once. That is, about those who can "carry" their wealth and those who cannot. He even pointed out those around him that fit into either category. those that could not carry the responsibility were usually loud and overbearing whilst those that could were respectful and better listeners than talkers. Which one of these do you think Google is ? How about eBay ? How about MS ?

If you can't beat them....just more confirmation of Google's absolute dominance of the search engine market. Yahoo won't be able to continue as an independent entity for much longer if they continue giving their power away like this.
