Wow, after looking a bit online, I’m still not sure about the yahoo report, but the stock fluctuation is legit: Yahoo Stock

What launches in the valley should stay in the valley. Google buys Yahoo! Can’t wait to read that.

I am sure Microsoft is happy to hear this… This wouldn’t surprise me. Yawho is crazy not to let microsoft take them out of their misery.

Yang is in urgent need of new advisors. Though this deal isn’t to our collective advantage, it will get done, all that remains to be decided is the structure of the deal.

The stock only dropped 40 cents. I am not sure I would call that “tanking”.

Reply

13 Todd Mintz April 9, 2008 at 3:40 pm

I’m not sure dropping from $27.60 per share to $27.20 quite qualifies as “tanking” :.) Bear Stearns…they tanked.

Yeah, yeah, the news is really interesting. Much more importantly, though, the childlike-scrawl of the Shoemoney logo on the picture just totally made my day.

I am agreeing with Bill D. on this one. That little almost-Shoemoney logo was the first thing that caught my eye. *=) however, I am not surprised at the story. Perhaps Yahoo is just going crazy these days.

Yahoo just seems to be a company without any direction these days. I suspect this is just some kind of ploy to get Microsoft to up their bid. I guess time will tell …

32 Sean April 9, 2008 at 9:52 pm

this had to be a card they were trying to buy time to play. in a way though it makes them look a little desperate and makes the ms thing appear plausible whereas before this move one might start believing that yahoo had something coming out of their own shop…hard to believe that now

Reply

33 Sean April 9, 2008 at 9:54 pm

good point. make sure and look at the scale of the chart. The volume though is interesting shows alot of interest in this deal

Not gonna fly. Too bad Yang is past the point where he can get out of this without looking like an idiot … which means he’s going to keep fighting the merger and these supposed white knights are going to take chunks out of him in the process. Just do the MS deal already and walk away with some freaking dignity.

Yahoo is desperate.. Yahoo is run like a bunch of drunk moneys working with 13 year olds out of a basement. Yahoo needs a whole new board and staff. Sell already.

I don’t see the value in this. In the long run Yahoo will lose all their advertising relationships to Google.

Reply

44 Funky South April 10, 2008 at 4:14 am

I think actualy this may increase the chances of MS buying out Yahoo, I mean if google and yahoo team up MS/live/msn is dead in the water.

Reply

45 Felex Tan April 10, 2008 at 4:17 am

Google has larger network, thats why they choose them.

“MS/live/msn is dead in the water” anyway. Personally i will not worry if google will buy yahoo, maybe because of microsoft is simply annoying me, dunno.

I think it would just keep Yahoo from going under and give stockholders and the suits some money so they can bail out…I’m guessing.

WTH is Yahoo Doing? They are putting both middle fingers up and pointing them square at MS. I think it is their way of saying “We would rather hand the business over to Google than sell to you for what you offered!”

If you can’t beat them….just more confirmation of Google’s absolute dominance of the search engine market. Yahoo won’t be able to continue as an independent entity for much longer if they continue giving their power away like this.

Soap opera alright ! Google can’t stand the though of anyone getting close and their arrogance is sickening. May just get a little too big for their own boots and let’s see what happens. They remind me of someone who got too much money too soon, didn’y know how to carry that responsibility, and lost the lot. A very wealthy man told me about this principle once. That is, about those who can “carry” their wealth and those who cannot. He even pointed out those around him that fit into either category. those that could not carry the responsibility were usually loud and overbearing whilst those that could were respectful and better listeners than talkers. Which one of these do you think Google is ? How about eBay ? How about MS ?
