Shoeperstar Aaron Kronis Rocked Did Not Dissapoint!

by Jeremy Schoemaker on March 18, 2008 · 53 comments

Last month Aaron Kronis won the shoeperstar contest for SXSW. The contest was co-sponsored by myself and IZEA. In winning the contest Aaron won a all expense paid trip to the SXSW conference in Austin Texas last week and also $1,000.00 spending money.

When he showed up we gave him a plain white t-shirt and told him in order to get his room keys he had to invade the blog haus and get 30 websites and business cards on his shirt. We figured this would be a great opportunity to meet at least half of the technorati top 50 bloggers.

Aaron was a total rockstar…. like I am not just saying that. If you did not know any better you would have thought he was the biggest star there. My friend (and fellow elite retreat speaker) Guy Kawasaki paid a girl $20.00 just to go up and find out who he was and what he was doing… then he was happy to participate!

Other people that got in on the fun:

The one and only Problogger Darren Rowse

Brian Clark aka Copyblogger:

Queen of Spain

Krista from photrade Whats she writing?

lolz:

Technosailer (nice to meet you finally)

Robert Scoble was to much in a hurry to participate:

So Aaron was also required to get each of the bloggers to make a sound so we could put together a beatbox soundboard… here it is!

It was a REALLY awesome time and I enjoyed hanging out with Aaron. He is truly a superstar and I would say he was a good sport but he totally was a cool guy and someone I look forward to possibly working with in the future. Good job Aaron!

Very cool, was wondering what the significance of those photos were when I saw them earlier. Guy looks pretty excited to get some shots of his own.

PAID A GIRL???!!! PAID A GIRL??!!!! It was me, and I didn’t take the money, and it was to say ‘who the hell are you?”

Paid a girl. OMG

Dying laughing. Really. I think I may have to use this to tell everyone I’m Guy’s Paid Girl. How’s that for a tag line? Really, I’m laughing. It’s ok.

Hey Shoe,
In an attempt to immortalize your name (as if it already isn’t), I included you in my new song “The SEO Blues”. I hope you dig it. You can listen to it here:

Glad I made a brief appearance in the video and I’m also the background girl in the picture of Guy Kawasaki writing on Aaron’s shirt. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the girl he paid $20 to ask you what you were doing. :-)
