It’s obvious you don’t live in LA. You’d be more like “You’ve gotta see this movie, it’s the most awesome thing ever, no one’s ever done anything like it, it’s totally unique, and full of action, and excitement. Oh, and the ending will just blow you away!”

I’m not excited for this movie at all I’ll stick to the UFC thanks. Your never going to see me blog about these cheesy movies because they are nothing compared to the real thing.

That’s why I like serial drama on TV. It doesn’t usually tend to be the same story over and over. And the suspense keeps you engaged.

Good message. Similar to what Seth Godin says when he talks about the purple cow. You need to stand out or else you are nothing.

It looked a bit like fight club when i saw the trailer

YES that is exactly why that movie will suck. And the MTV movie about war will suck too.

No Country For Old Men, now THAT was a good movie.

Kind of the same story but with great acting and a scary freakin’ dude…. “call it, freindo” that scene with the old guy at the gas station was great, just loved it.

Engaging analogy Jeremy… Tom Selleck is the only successful John Wayne clone today. Most repetition in movies or business falls flat. You keep it fresh and keep challenging us to reinvent ourselves as you do. Great post and you don’t mind taking heat, kid!

Hey Jeremy, I am a big fan of MMA Fighting and always was looking forward to watch this movie but after watching it last night, it wasn’t that great. It’s a teen movie and will do nothing for mixed martial arts except make it look bad.

I’m still a big fan of Fight Club… that was one of my favorites. Another Edward Norton classic.

Good stuff, thanks for warning me not to watch the movie, I just said $20 for movie tickets.

My wife and watched it last night too. I’m not sure how I felt about it. Acting was great but the ending was a little anti-climatic. I gave it a 6.5. My wife gave it only a 4!

Not only in movies or business, there are repetitions day in and out. Houses, schools, Colleges and offices.

Sometimes I think life follows same pattern with each one.

Ups, Downs, Happiness Grief.

Life moves in crests and troughs.

Its same story. :-)

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve seen the previews and my take is this is just another high school cheerleader movies. (only with fighting) I would be all over it if it were some type of documentary or had the illusion of being real.
Your analogy was spot on though
Thanks!

I second that.

The preview reminded me of “You Got Served” only full contact. I puked in my mouth a bit watching it the whole 1:45 preview. Makes me wonder what would happen if I actually sat down and watched the whole thing. Thanks Shoe, you probably saved me from the flu.

Good video. We’re also from the Mixed Martial Arts space and I couldn’t agree more. I will not be watching this movie, and I also think that it’s a poor representation of the sport we’ve been trying so hard to legitimize over the past couple of years.

This movie fits into all the media that has been produced about MMA. All the video games, movies, and just about everything based on MMA has been horrible. There is a new game in development, I hope it is better than the last few!

everything is new if you are 11 years old. It only looks repetitive to us dumb old codgers

Even if it is the same story, it can be fun to watch a different rendition. I understand what you mean though, the same ole plot can get boring to some…

Try a few non mainstream non Hollywood type movies. They are very refreshing to watch usally with unknown actors with great skills and much deeper stories. English and Irish movies are favorites of mine. Try one called “Purely Belter” if you can get your hands on it. Funny and sad at the same time. Give Hollywood the flick.

Try a few non Hollywood non mainstream studio movies for a refreshing change. These are often found in the alternative sections of movie libraries. All the big studios want to do is get your money so they just churn out whiz bang looking and sounding stuff because they know that is what their markets want. They know that the combinations of good triumphing over bad with some love and sex thrown in is a winning formula. I like watching Europeon/English/Irish movies. A favorite is called “Purely Belter” if you can get your hands on it. Funny but sad. Give Hollywood the flick.

There are a lot of movies that are the same story and you can pretty much guess what is going to happen. I think every movie will be liked by some and not liked by others. I may still want to see the movie if there are at least some decent fight scenes. Hopefully they do MMA some justice in the film even if the story line is a little weak.

Funny, I live in L.A. and I’m not like all gun ho to see this movie. It’s the same thing over and over again. Looks like “No retreat, No surrender” all over again. So this guy, who lives in L.A. is rolling his eyes and wondering when something new is going to come out.
