Fortigate Firewall from fortiwall.com

By Jeremy Schoemaker 8 comments

We have been looking at getting a new firewall/security appliance and this fortigate 200a from fortiwall.com looks promising and seems to have great reviews …. but…. nobody answers there phone from the number listed on there website and I have left 2 messages.

Perhaps someone can make another recommendation ?

nm they called 20 mins after posting this… someone who reads has connections there. Massive hookup. =P

You would think with a $3,500 price tag you could get some customer service with it. I hate the lack of customer service on the internet. I guess from being a bartender through college I am a firm believer in it.

Have you tried going directly to the manufacturer? http://www.fortinet.com/contact/

It appears fortiwall is just one of their resellers, with a sneakily similar name.

I used to be a network admin and we used SonicWall as our firewall. Really easy to configure and the uptime was excellent.

Go to fortinet.com and find a partner in their list that knows how to answer their phone.

    We have used (for hosting)
Citrix (Good but a pain to configure)
Sonicwall (Also Good but still a pain to configure — not as bad a citrix)

For internal/office use (webfiltering, etc.) I looked at:
    Astaro
    Barracuda
    St Bernard
    And ended up using:
    Cymphonix (Best value/bang for buck)
