In the March issue of Entrepreneur magazine there is a interesting article called “Google Eyed – Prepare to Fall hard for Google Based OS and the computers that run on it” which takes a really in depth look at the 3 computers on the market now powered by Google applications. Its a good read and covers Zoho, Everex and Zonbu PC’s.
I wonder now with Google gaining the desktop market share if anyone will actually really use MSN without it being embedded in their operating system.
Also thinking about the mobile platform I am SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to the Google Android powered phones that will be coming out this summer. People want a hack and slash cellphone so bad =(.
I hate the stock market but I think Googles stock looks pretty good right now.

Boy, Google is getting to be like Microsoft…they want to own everything.
March 13, 2008 at 9:18 pm
I just don’t see a Google/Yahoo combination.
March 13, 2008 at 3:20 am
I’m looking forward to that day.
March 12, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Many have tried, but no one’s been able to overthrow the iPhone, let alone a newcommer to the phone world like Google.
March 12, 2008 at 3:24 am
google want to face with Microsoft, someday
March 11, 2008 at 8:17 pm
Please, let us know more about that.
March 11, 2008 at 7:13 pm
How is that actually ??
March 11, 2008 at 1:15 pm
I just saw the Google bought Feedburner. It’s only a little thing, but man, they are taking over the world.
March 11, 2008 at 10:21 am
The thought of Google having a “monopoly” was nuts a few years ago. They have succeeded so well because their method of improving and offering new products and services costs so little. They can maximize their profits through duplication. Insane how awesome the Internet is and the opportunities contained within it.
March 10, 2008 at 7:58 pm
I don’t know, lots of people have found John Chow even though he doesn’t even rank on the first page for his name. He gets some traffic from Google, but the majority came from social marketing, Digg and I guess his evil tactics. Google isn’t the only game out there when it comes to blogs.
March 10, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Yeah, it’s great that they have multiple lanes (like YouTube, firefox, android, etc) driving traffic to their monetization. But wth just adwords as their dominant income source, it’s a real pinch point.
March 10, 2008 at 3:00 pm
I hate the stock market, too. But I still wouldn’t buy Google stock. It just seems so overvalued. It’s a great company with a lasting brand. But the stock price should be at a good, reasonable value, and Google just doesn’t cut it.
March 10, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Remember when Google was the fresh upstart company people saw as the anti-big-corporation? My, how things have changed. Penalizing people for selling any ads other than adsense….etc
March 10, 2008 at 11:59 am
The street is getting impatient with the YouTube buy as well. Traffic is great, but you have to monetize it at some point.
March 10, 2008 at 11:57 am
Too much market share . Even if the FTC would OK (which they won’t) no way Europe goes for it. I think the real question is where does AOL end up? I say NewsCorp
March 10, 2008 at 11:00 am
I am not sure if I like that new phone Google is coming out with. It has a stylist, seriously? I am wondering if the phones browser will be as good as the iphone. Should I get started with a .mobi
March 10, 2008 at 9:42 am
It won’t be long and Google will be sitting in front of Congress explaining why they aren’t a monopoly just like Microsoft did when it took over from Netscape.
March 10, 2008 at 9:05 am
Google already started to take control of everything. It started with search engine, than mobile phones, than desktop. It seems scary
March 10, 2008 at 8:32 am
I wish I would have gotten in on the Google stock about 10 years ago when I first became a regular user of it.
March 10, 2008 at 7:02 am
lol
March 10, 2008 at 5:43 am
I am wondering how Google will do, if people will also buy phones from Google or more stick with the familiar brands and keep Google only for search.
March 10, 2008 at 3:42 am
I’m not google fanatic but i’ll get it a try when it’s out on the market.
March 10, 2008 at 12:22 am
ya for about ten years, google is the king :d
March 9, 2008 at 11:19 pm
And it would show up on Google maps.
March 9, 2008 at 10:40 pm
Google Cars? They are planning for cars? hahahaha
March 9, 2008 at 10:29 pm
haha. Google has made me rich in some or the other way
March 9, 2008 at 9:38 pm
Google is too close to taking over everything. Most people who use google to search the internet aren’t going to use other sites. So if you rank badly in google like john chow, they aren’t going to find you.
March 9, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Agreed, Google now controls more than search, they control your business (because of search results), and that plain sucks.
March 9, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Google cars…interesting. Maybe with GPS you could find out where your spouse, or maybe that chick you’re stalking, is.
March 9, 2008 at 7:25 pm
I was thinking it’d be cool if they got into cars…
Maybe I should be posting this at John Chow’s site… lol
March 9, 2008 at 7:24 pm
What is the Google OS based on? Linux?
March 9, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Google is becoming very dominant in the web world and their stock shows that they are really strong right now. They have been buying up some big sites like YouTube, FeedBurner. It looked like Yahoo was in their crosshairs. They are getting involved in many other projects and solutions.
Is it really in our best interests for a company to be soaking up as many big sites as possible and getting involved in many different products and solutions? It sure makes their stock look good though!

March 9, 2008 at 6:25 pm
now you know that is not going to happen…can you say that google will be going through the same thing that MS went through a few years back.
March 9, 2008 at 6:07 pm
I am too looking forward to trying out the Google Android powered phones. As I’ve seen so far, there will be some awesome features…but the way it looks needs some work.
March 9, 2008 at 4:59 pm
Google stock does look like a buy for the long term. I would hold out for a little longer if you’re looking for some short term gain and wont be able to stomach it if Google falls more.
The recent targets on Google are 550 and much higher in the many months ahead. And of course you can day trade it or go for the swing.
March 9, 2008 at 4:55 pm
It’s interesting because Ask.com tried to do the same thing (not their own OS, but their own apps for a while) and they couldn’t manage it at all. And here Google goes, just ticking along coming up with cooler stuff every minute. Seems like Google could find monetization through apps and OSes, not just adwords….
March 9, 2008 at 4:08 pm
I don’t know … they can’t just keep coming up with free resources to drive traffic to a single monetization source (adwords). It’s making them look like a one-trick-pony more and more. And the bigger they get with little diversification into other income streams, the more at risk they are of running into a single point of failure that hurts them beyond repair.
March 9, 2008 at 3:56 pm
I started buying Google when it dropped below $500 and keep adding some more every now and then. I think the recent reports regarding Google.com click quantity are overblown and the stock will rebound when the next round of quarterly earnings is released.
March 9, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Wow, they are close to dominating the world
March 9, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Wait until they official make a bid for Yahoo and make all hell break loose if that deal ever falls through.
March 9, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Google is taking over the world. I love it.
March 9, 2008 at 11:30 am
I thought Google main goal was to make an online OS but it’s really interesting to see Google Desktop OS run!
March 9, 2008 at 8:15 am
they already have their search engine !
March 9, 2008 at 7:36 am
Google desktops, google phones, next thing you know they’ll have their own search engine!
March 9, 2008 at 7:20 am
Didn’t know the stock had dropped so low. Might be a time to buy. Everything is low. Short term will depend on the feds though and not google…
March 9, 2008 at 7:19 am
Agreed stock locks great. I am posting from the everex… There is potential on real hardware. And anything with google seems to do well and be implemented well.
March 9, 2008 at 5:56 am
Shoe, With falling tech stocks across the board and Google’s high valuation, do you think their stock will continue to go up over the coming year?
March 9, 2008 at 5:34 am
I think were a long way off seeing Google dominate the O/S marketplace anytime soon.
March 9, 2008 at 4:47 am
i think if google produce the goods on the mobile format then users will be more inclined to want to have the same functions, apps, environment etc on their desktop pc – continuity – could be the way to edge out MS but they have to have the solid apps on the desktop
March 9, 2008 at 4:29 am
i looked at the google OS right now it is definately not for beginners… i think many people will still continue to use microsoft … but people like you and me will try the new one out just for the heck of it
Then i am definately waiting for the phone … Hopefully verizon have it … btw: get back to me via email dude i have sent you one a week ago now :p
March 9, 2008 at 4:25 am
The only thing I know up now is that Google is becoming more and more dominant of the Web, which is anything but a good one for the vast majority of us internet marketers.
