I was talking to the affiliate team over at Rocket Profit about some of the new offers they are running that looked pretty attractive to us. One thing I really like about a company like rocket profit is how open they are with lines of communication to affiliates. Sometimes the difference between failure and success can be some tips from your affiliate manager. Anyway they were asking me why I no longer made videos like my one on directories and also the one I did on the DMCA stuff with ChrisR.
Well basically I just got tiered of transcoding video from my camera over to my mac. It takes forever… you can only transcode in real time and its a pain in the ass. I also told them I was waiting on getting a new camera with a built in hard drive that was Mac compatible but being they were so new I was not sure if they had been really tested that well. We talked a little more then the next day they sent me some info on new HD Cameras and specifically information about the Canon HG10. This camera seemed to fit the bill. It recorded in quicktime format and was totally compatible with MacOSX Leopard. It also has a huge hard drive that can record over 12 hours of footage and has regular USB 2.0 jacks. It also has a external microphone port. These were all items that are very important to me. So I wrote back and said that looked good and I was going to pick one up… then I got a quick email saying to chill for a few days… ok
WELL SURPRISE. Yesterday I got one on my door step from amazon courtesy of Rocket Profit. You guys kick ass! Thanks a lot. I am really looking forward to making some cool videos with this!

Rocket Profit is seriously one of my favorites affiliate. They do an awesome job with everything. Congradulation on the camera and hopefully you can put it to use more often.

Talk about affiliate appreciation! Too often you hear about affiliate networks screwing over their affiliates, announcing some new tracking issue, etc, etc.
How often do you hear stuff like this about your favorite affiliate network? Never. I’m sold. I know obviously RocketProfit isn’t going to give all of us sweet cameras. But their attention to their top affiliates says volumes!

Bought the exact same camera earlier this week. Great camera, although it still takes a while to download stuff from it, but none the less iMovie 08 does it all, no stuffing around with formats, it just appears in beautiful 1080p

I got the HG20 and it’s seriously a badass camera. Some people have dome some crazy good stuff with it and the HG10 is pretty much the same camera, but with a hard drive instead of tape. Cool stuff. I’m sure you’ll dig it.

Rocket Profit seems like a company that knows how to take care of it’s people and prospects. Around Christmas, I received a $10 Starbucks gift card, and a nice letter saying looking forward to being your affiliate network of choice in 2008, or something to that effect. I still have the letter and will be using them once I set up a few affiliate sites in this up coming year.
