“Pownce is a way to keep in touch with people and share stuff with them. Send files, links, events, and messages to people you know and have real conversations about them.”
Great! Its like gmail but with less features.. sign me up!
It’s a new social website dealy I guess. Seems neat and ajaxy. A lot of popular bloggers joined already. I suppose the founders network well.
It seems cool in it’s simplicity… you share files, links and text with your friends. I am sure over time people will get really good at networking with a huge number of people and will be able to leverage that.
I joined. No reason not to, and if you don’t, the only person missing out is you. Noone else will care.
That is what I had thought of facebook. None of my friends were on it, I couldn’t view anyones profile, there was no “magic,” etc… But I guess if it gets enough momentum…
You said the same thing about Twitter and never came back to it after months! Pownce, imo, is a lot worse than Twitter. I’m a Twitterholic, and not so much with Pownce anymore even though I’ve been a member of Pownce since the beta stages…
Pownce isn’t able to answer the “why should I choose this one over Twitter” question as far as I’m concerned, they should have brought a lot more in terms of innovation in order to stand a chance attacking Twitter’s market position.
OK… am I missing something here? What’s so special about Pownce and why should I bother?
I had a look around and can’t find any reason why I should set up an account and spend any time on the network.
Do tell…

Another social networking site! I hardly ever spend time on any of them because they mostly seem like time wasters to me.

I usually use bookmarking sites for seo purposes.

Hey Jeremy, would you consider a reader of your blog as a “friend”?

I expect a huge derth of these sort of sites over the next few years. People see the 23 Billion Facebook value and want their piece.
[Reply]
these kind of sites are gonna run out of steam soon. you can do all this stuff with an IM client. bye bye investment money.
