I will check it out, any network is a good one if it helps bring in traffic.

these kind of sites are gonna run out of steam soon. you can do all this stuff with an IM client. bye bye investment money.

I expect a huge derth of these sort of sites over the next few years. People see the 23 Billion Facebook value and want their piece.

It’s semi-new, It’s web 2.0, it was by invitation only. Be there or be square…..

Pownce isn’t able to answer the “why should I choose this one over Twitter” question as far as I’m concerned, they should have brought a lot more in terms of innovation in order to stand a chance attacking Twitter’s market position.

Tamar I just do not get twitter…
I just wanted to stake my claim on pownce before someone else squatted on shoemoney
January 22, 2008 at 2:21 pm
yes your all friends!
January 22, 2008 at 2:16 pm
You said the same thing about Twitter and never came back to it after months! Pownce, imo, is a lot worse than Twitter. I’m a Twitterholic, and not so much with Pownce anymore even though I’ve been a member of Pownce since the beta stages…
January 22, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Hey Jeremy, would you consider a reader of your blog as a “friend”?
January 22, 2008 at 1:09 pm
I usually use bookmarking sites for seo purposes.
January 22, 2008 at 10:28 am
Another social networking site! I hardly ever spend time on any of them because they mostly seem like time wasters to me.
January 22, 2008 at 8:33 am
That is what I had thought of facebook. None of my friends were on it, I couldn’t view anyones profile, there was no “magic,” etc… But I guess if it gets enough momentum…
January 22, 2008 at 8:31 am
In a word….. “So?”
January 22, 2008 at 7:29 am
pedophiles…
January 22, 2008 at 7:02 am
Thanks, John.
I suppose there is no harm if it’s for the purpose of networking.
January 22, 2008 at 6:39 am
I am already on there…go look me up!
January 22, 2008 at 6:08 am
I see Pownce have original “about us” page. I like it.
January 22, 2008 at 6:07 am
It’s a new social website dealy I guess. Seems neat and ajaxy. A lot of popular bloggers joined already. I suppose the founders network well.
It seems cool in it’s simplicity… you share files, links and text with your friends. I am sure over time people will get really good at networking with a huge number of people and will be able to leverage that.
I joined. No reason not to, and if you don’t, the only person missing out is you. Noone else will care.

“Pownce is a way to keep in touch with people and share stuff with them. Send files, links, events, and messages to people you know and have real conversations about them.”
Great! Its like gmail but with less features.. sign me up!
January 22, 2008 at 5:09 am
OK… am I missing something here? What’s so special about Pownce and why should I bother?
I had a look around and can’t find any reason why I should set up an account and spend any time on the network.
Do tell…
