Just out of curiosity, but do you think maybe the reason John Chow is winning is that maybe he is getting a ton of new visitors from Shoemoney? He was quite a bit behind in subscribers at the beginning so I would imagine that a ton of people who read shoemoney might not have heard of him, or had maybe not subscribed at least. This contest might have just been the “publicity” boost he needed?

tbh is there a real loser? Overall traffic for the month of October is up 20%. I increased my rss subscription by over 2000 readers and got to give away tons of cool prizes.
Its been a lot of fun. John certainly is kicking my ass.

Seems the strategy is to lose. He will probably get more publicity that way and he will look cooler if he blows off the contest, like he has more important stuff to do.
