So as many have figured out now we were involved in and advising the new fighting league M-1 Global and the greatest fighter in the world Fedor Emelyanenko. Our role is kind of strange but its really awesome to be working with these guys. I look forward to a interesting future in MMA.
I am REALLY looking forward to kicking off the Pubcon contest which I dont want to spoil. I hope to kick it off tomorrow.
back to work for me

Very anxious for this PubCon contest to kick off. Let’s get it started already.
October 24, 2007 at 12:39 pm
After your explanation I retract and understand what you were trying to say now. :p
October 24, 2007 at 12:09 pm
I hear that someone who like Guinness is big on the Couture/Forrest training camp ties
October 24, 2007 at 10:10 am
Either way. I enjoy watching it and have for a while.
October 24, 2007 at 8:59 am
Congrats on working with M1 Global. They are going to be doing great things for MMA!
With Monty at the helm, how could they do wrong
October 24, 2007 at 8:17 am
Fedor is a beast!
I really hope M1-Global becomes a success. I can’t wait to hear who will be included in their roster of fighters.
Based on the press conference, they want to take MMA to a place where top fighters from different organizations fight each other. I really like that idea. In boxing, the IBF, WBC & WBA champs fight each other and I think that sort of thing would be great for MMA as opposed to one main organization controlling the bulk of the talent and when they fight, etc.
October 24, 2007 at 8:03 am
dang…I retract my statement.
October 24, 2007 at 8:01 am
so it wasn’t from talking shit or it could of been… some one should animate shoe telling matt hughes and other fighters that their websites sucks.
October 24, 2007 at 7:58 am
Or did he let Rich know he had money against him at the party he co-sponsered for him. It’s all business I guess.
October 24, 2007 at 7:56 am
i didn’t know if he was texting in his comment or what.
October 24, 2007 at 7:55 am
not only that, but interest from fans to support two or three or four MMA groups. got to keep them in mind. i like watching the fights, but don’t have time to keep up with different groups.
October 24, 2007 at 7:52 am
definitely did not want to imply the fighting was fake. reading my comment i can see where that is what i said. i wanted to imply that the way money moves in the industry is odd. having different regulators/leagues at the professional level is not the way I would have thought it be. you end up with 3-4 top fighters w/ different belts but they are under different contracts and can’t fight. i would have to write a much longer response to explain my response and don’t want to thread jack too much.
October 24, 2007 at 7:45 am
Congrats on living the dream. I’m working on it thanks to a lot of hard work and tips from this blog.
October 24, 2007 at 3:28 am
Name Recognition is the reason he got all those contracts.
October 24, 2007 at 3:27 am
Wow, nice job! This is going to be interesting to watch…
October 24, 2007 at 1:23 am
Wow.. i like your UFC blog .. lol
October 24, 2007 at 12:16 am
Should be interesting, well definitely follow the new comp
October 23, 2007 at 11:54 pm
damn … speak English, dude
October 23, 2007 at 11:33 pm
There is plenty of money to keep multiple MMA groups up, you just have to have a good ad man.
October 23, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Sorry but you are below a n00b for that comment…waay below a n00b. Shit you make a n00b look like an expert.
October 23, 2007 at 7:50 pm
I assumed that was what he was talking about…
Been a mma fan since ‘94 when I first saw UFC2, even though there was little to none cross training back then.
Anyway, good job Shoe and can’t wait to see what comes of m-1 global.
Oh yeah…Volk, wipe your nose off.
October 23, 2007 at 7:13 pm
Shoe I’d like to know if you mentioned this to Dana White when you met him?
October 23, 2007 at 7:12 pm
Shoe I’d like to know if you mentioned this to Dana when you met him???
October 23, 2007 at 6:27 pm
Wow! Exciting stuff.. Fedor is a bad bad man. I’m excited to see what comes of this!!
October 23, 2007 at 6:19 pm
Its not fake.
October 23, 2007 at 6:18 pm
Will it better to have rival MMA groups? Is there enough sponsor money to keep both going? It seems like the fighters will lose if there needs to be enough money to fund two organizations.
Anyway interesting news.
October 23, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Can we quote you on that?
October 23, 2007 at 5:34 pm
I didn’t think he owned it per say but was looking to partner with them. Obviously you have more insight than I do but I didn’t think there was a formal relationship. Interesting news…
October 23, 2007 at 5:20 pm
Very cool stuff. Dana white will never let the couture/fedor fight happen though. Dana knows that if Randy’s not going to fight in the UFC, he sure as heck isn’t going to let him fight elsewhere. He’s got a contract on randy and no way that randy will be able to get out of it.
Oh well..
And no way that forest will ever leave the UFC either, he’s one of their fan favs and he wouldn’t piss on the UFC like that.
October 23, 2007 at 5:05 pm
Congrats. This is quite the achievement!
October 23, 2007 at 5:05 pm
Hahaha. Nice. Burn!!
October 23, 2007 at 5:03 pm
KILL UFC!
October 23, 2007 at 4:50 pm
cuban owns part of m1
October 23, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Really hope that you can bring randy couture into the mix to fight fedor that is what everyone wants to see even tho I think fedor will destroy Randy but seems like every fight everyone says randy is going to get destroyed and he pulls through so who knows.
October 23, 2007 at 4:47 pm
Isn’t Mark Cuban about to start his own MMA series? Any thoughts on how to go up against a billionaire bad dancer?
October 23, 2007 at 4:35 pm
tht’s an grt thing. we r with u…..:)
October 23, 2007 at 4:28 pm
Tough Man used to be the competition of choice locally. Locals could go out and see who was the biggest/baddest in the city. People would fight multiple times a night. There were also women fighting.
I would think about it after lots of training and a weight class drop or two
October 23, 2007 at 4:14 pm
Sweet! COngrats Shoe
October 23, 2007 at 3:47 pm
Just don’t get in the ring…
October 23, 2007 at 3:31 pm
Quit being a jackass. There is no way to correctly romanize Cyrillic, and the translations vary widely.
October 23, 2007 at 3:16 pm
This whole under contract thing seems like TNA vs WWE/WWF, etc… I don’t understand why this sport is not more like boxing. Being like fake wrestling well seems… , but I am a n00b….
October 23, 2007 at 3:13 pm
its interesting you mention forrest (more on this soon
)
October 23, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Bring over Forrest as well…
October 23, 2007 at 2:03 pm

October 23, 2007 at 1:52 pm
It’s cool how you can get involved in projects your passionate about in your personal life.
October 23, 2007 at 1:49 pm
A “y” instead of an “i”?
Close enough.
October 23, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Way to go Shoe! Sounds exciting!
October 23, 2007 at 1:13 pm
C’mon Shoe…at least get Fedor’s name remotely correct…
October 23, 2007 at 1:13 pm
if they have enough money
October 23, 2007 at 12:54 pm
Isn’t Pride now owned by UFC? Would be interesting if they eventually buy M-1 too.
October 23, 2007 at 12:37 pm
Damn, shoe keeps getting the awesome contracts.
October 23, 2007 at 12:27 pm
i am going to have to research more but i assume they will compete with UFC and pride. will be nice to see your bets on these first fights (i assume the will be ppv [or will they be web viewable] and have lines). trying to see your angles here.
October 23, 2007 at 12:23 pm
will be waiting. sounds like a great contest.
