So, do we have to dance like Hammer in order to be drawn? What is the best way to increase our chances onsite, without having to spend a mint buying BOTW stuff?
October 3, 2007 at 1:58 pm
How much google consider botw in compare of yahoo! directory beside the difference in PR?
October 3, 2007 at 2:05 pm
heh Americans only
October 3, 2007 at 2:12 pm
I have heard matt cutts say on several occasions dmoz, best of the web, and yahoo are the only directorys worth submitting to
October 3, 2007 at 2:16 pm
Good eye Yazz. As of today, the contest is open to US residents only. We have legal looking into opening it up to site owners world wide. We’ll keep you posted when we modify the rules.
October 3, 2007 at 2:19 pm
I was in full mood to try, but US people only … Lets hope they open it up for rest of the world… Internet does not have any boundaries.. does it ?
October 3, 2007 at 2:21 pm
The giveaway from ProBlogger is still better
October 3, 2007 at 2:24 pm
umm how do you figure? id rather have 10k in cash then 10000 prizes of consulting and rinkydink shit that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overvalued anyday…
October 3, 2007 at 2:51 pm
Dang, too bad I don’t go to conferences. Good stuff by BOTW for steppin’ up!
October 3, 2007 at 3:14 pm
You’re not gonna win. Your name will be not in the drawing bucket anyway
October 3, 2007 at 3:24 pm
Ahh, Americans Only
October 3, 2007 at 3:43 pm
Do you have to attend the conference to be able to win?
~Jonathan
October 3, 2007 at 3:58 pm
aahh ok so this is what you’re referring to on previous post
but you need to pay for a botw listing to qualify for the contest right?
October 3, 2007 at 4:17 pm
I live all the way over in South Africa. I would have LOVED to go to VEGAS to win me some money… But hey… I’ll get there one day.
October 3, 2007 at 8:00 pm
I’m in Canada, so this is a no-go. Damn.
October 3, 2007 at 8:08 pm
It really pays off being an american online or a canadian/mexican with a US P.O. Box.
October 3, 2007 at 8:31 pm
there is a lot better reasons to be an american than BOTW, but very true. =D
October 3, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Oh man…. I really hope to win this money. It would help me so much.
October 3, 2007 at 9:26 pm
I visited the site but haven’t read the terms. Is it available to other countries besides US or Canada? Anyway I’ll try to look more into it. Thanks for the info Jeremy.
October 3, 2007 at 11:45 pm
Was this before or after he said no to submit to payed directories?
October 4, 2007 at 12:07 am
US only – why? It’s cash!
October 4, 2007 at 1:57 am
Again US only!
October 4, 2007 at 3:51 am
This sucks – US only. Same thing happened when I wanted to enter to win a chance to stay in Cinderella’s Castle at Disney. Looks like I’m going to have to break in and squat instead.
There must be some legal reason I suppose – for not allowing foreign entries.
October 4, 2007 at 4:05 am
Lets try Win10k and win money.
October 4, 2007 at 4:19 am
It was before that … but BOTW is not considered in the same category of directories, the fee you pay them is just for the review of your site and not that any one who pays gets listed, this is the main reason why the others got banned.
October 4, 2007 at 5:13 am
Looks like we europeans are not welcome… they are loosing much because of that.
October 4, 2007 at 6:32 am
BOTW had been copied about a million times.
October 4, 2007 at 7:15 am
I wish I win this money. It would do so much good to me and my family.
All the best to everyone too.
October 4, 2007 at 7:30 am
cool. looks like a good way at a chance fro 10K
October 4, 2007 at 7:31 am
yes, please do. I’d also really like to enter. And if you ever decide to start a category for German-language blogs, I’ll definitely sponsor it.
October 4, 2007 at 11:42 am
WEB DIRECTORIES SUCK ! ! ! ! ! !
October 4, 2007 at 9:44 pm
Too bad BOTW blog directory only accepts English language content.
October 5, 2007 at 9:38 am
Yeah, and $80 is a lot to spend on something that does absolutely nothing for your site, regardless of the small chance of winning 10K
October 5, 2007 at 5:32 pm
Yeah – if there’s ever a situation on the web where people are buying links for PR and SERP manipulation, it’s directories. I mean, really, who uses directories to find anything? Search has evolved to the point that it doesn’t make sense to organize stuff into directory format because it’s cumbersome and inflexible – you can just type your categories into any search engine and find more reliable sites. Why they aren’t discredited completely is a mystery to me.
October 5, 2007 at 9:50 pm
my exact sentiments
October 5, 2007 at 9:51 pm
maybe the major ads players are US based … still yeah a shame its for US only
October 5, 2007 at 9:52 pm
it doesn’t if it’s making you money
October 6, 2007 at 6:21 am
If directories would clearly state that payments are for reviewing the websites, then they’re out of trouble?
October 7, 2007 at 11:24 am
In general, I agree. There are too many of them and most of them are garbage.
October 7, 2007 at 8:14 pm
I can’t believe continental Europe can’t participate
October 8, 2007 at 4:27 pm
Shoemoney can you tell us how many unique visitors you got from them? I may be interested to add a sponsor as well..
October 8, 2007 at 4:29 pm
depends on the traffic that they can get to your site we can say that is a lot or not.
October 8, 2007 at 4:30 pm
Greg can you make some like case studies on how many visitors sponsors (avarage) can get?
October 8, 2007 at 4:31 pm
Damm I don’t know if I am the only one interested more in the traffic than the prizes
October 8, 2007 at 11:41 pm
$10,000!?? haha ahem.. You couldn’t cough up $1000…. 10k? Right…
October 11, 2007 at 8:38 am
You have to be selective – very selective…
October 24, 2007 at 9:16 am
When is this contest over?
October 24, 2007 at 10:23 am
wow! I can go for a dream vacation with that!
