Best Business Blog – this is our spot if anything…
I just feel really honored even to be nominated. I have truly been amazed at the success of this blog. I never considered myself a blogger and at first and even until a few weeks ago I took it as a insult when people would introduce me as a “blogger”. I know that probably sounds bad.. i mean it sounds bad to me now. But I have kind of embraced it a bit now.
When I was at the techcrunch40 conference last week as part of the “press core” I was introduced by one of the staff as “the best financial blogger in the world”. I was like “well kind of not really like in a not true kind of way” everyone around me laughed and they were like why do you not like being called a blogger. My response was just like “I think I am almost a insult to bloggers and news sites. I rarely use proper English. I throw in a lot of h4×0rific stuff and my grammar is horrid”.
But they responded with “But unlike 99.9% of blogs about making money online and marketing you have actually done what you have talked about and you are here and at all the conferences just a regular guy like all of your readers”
They also talked about how I basically have been the only blogger (if you want to use that word) who launched an advertising network and sold it 4 months later and chronicled every step of the way on the blog and on the radio show disclosing pretty much every marketing tactic and method for the success.
Well anyway… I am just a regular guy trying to make a living online. I think many times people put me on this pedestal and are like “what if you were not shoemoney and had to start over tomorrow what would you do?” I mean guess what…. I am just a regular guy and I hit hot and cold streaks like anyone else. Its all relative.
If you want to follow a professional blogger I think problogger is the guy. That guy truly is THE PROBLOGGER and he is a really good person also.
So got a little off topic but if you like shoemoney.com and you think its worthy vote for it.

i would say that your blog is famous because you are very successful in internet marketing industry making money online, making you a ‘celebrity’. With your status, you easily attract readers. Readers like to read about personal blog of ‘celebrity’. As time pass, you become more experienced in blogging
Somehow your blog become so popular that visitors 1st to get to know about you is from this blog (money making theme)…. naming you as a blogger 
while those already in online marketing world know how you started.

you know by getting even nominated for anything on that site you are pretty much dealing with payperpost… reason being do a whois of the domain and you shall see what i mean… so why even subject yourself to that???
look through the list of “popular sites” on there and you shall see most of them are under the umbrella of their company / subsidiaries…

Your style of writing is very unique. To be able to capture and audience from just telling us what you do everyday shows signs of a true blogger. Other blogs that just focus on one thing is good but sometimes lacks the excitement or drama. You being unpredictable daily is what draws my attention.

I know there are plenty of blogs out there that might be better or more informative than yours, but your blog was the first one that motivated to get more focused and go after my dreams. I admire you for a couple reasons. The first is how you react to the “haters”. I have been feeling some heat lately myself, and I can take faith in the fact you have it a lot worse but just brush it off your shoulders.
The second is all the pics with all the sexy internet models, I just love it, reminds me of me.

You say you don’t consider yourself a great blogger, but I don’t think that’s what it’s all about. Being a good writer can only get you so far. Having good ideas and putting them down into something you can share with others is what makes a good blog to read. This is definitely accomplished often on here so I would guess that would be why you were nominated.

I think what makes your blog great is the casualness. Some pro’s are… pretentious or over arrogant or they try and act casual when really they are assholes. Where as you are just you and that’s it and you blog what you think without worrying about keyword dropping and promoting your shit too much and all that.
This is basically the only blog I read on a regular basis. I read the Income.com blog now n then because I can’t wait for the release of that and I take a glance at John Chow’s now n then but to be honest I think he’s sold out. He’s compromised user experience for money and I think that’s where the line should be drawn with blogs. The in-link ads are annoying and even though he thinks it’s not packed with ads… it is! it may as well be 1 big landing page.
Whereas you… make as much as him and you keep your posts clean of ads and just use a seperate sidebar for ads / affiliates and a nice rotating spot at the top. That doesn’t annoy me in the slightest and I think it’s the best for a blog.
