First, pavs wtf? there wasnt a single racist comment in that post. And insulting the dude with the microphone or blog is not a smart idea.

Second,can it really be racism if Indian is a nationality and not a race?

Wow, that is insane. I have never done that before. Luckily you had a backup.

It happens to the best of us. Years ago one sleep-deprived day I once accidentally deleted a whole development environment, histories included, of an entire corporate intranet. Long. Live. Backups.

I had the same reaction. I even sent him an email with an image of his new tee shirt, Shoemoney says Stop Snitchin.

Thought I had really pissed him off. :)

Can you tell us more about your backup system please. Id really be interested to see a post about it and what you do. I export my databases once a week but it sounds like you have everything daily. Please share some details

You should use the drugs you sell ;)

But yay for backups, I have nightly cron running on my servers to backup my sql and site’s code… incase I make booboo’s too.

If you have shell access to your shell you should be able to create a cron job that you can set to run a script everynight
here’s a sample of the script I run every night.

#!/bin/bash
TIMESTAMP=`date +%m-%d-%y-%H%M`

cd /backups/mactap

find /backups/mactap/*.tar.gz -mtime +7 -exec rm -f {} \;

# my database
DBNAME=use_yours
mysqldump --add-drop-table --host=mactap.com -u myusername -pMyPassword $DBNAME > $DBNAME.sql
tar czpf $DBNAME.sql.$TIMESTAMP.tar.gz $DBNAME.sql
rm -f $DBNAME.sql

I hope this sheds some light on a cheap way of backing up a database

I hate messing with cron. I dont know if its just my host or lack of experience but I cant get cron to do anything these days.

As for shoemoney being a racist, well I have meet the man (and his wife) personally and they have come off as very warm, and I am black. Also, I have chatted with shoemoney *waaaaaay back when he used to hangout on wmr chatroom) and we would talk about things here and there and I told him about my partner in india and not once did he sau anything out of order so my money is on shoe just being a human being.

I don’t think it was racist either (following on the above comments). Sorry to hear about the blog problems!

i think it’s oversensitivity, if you have to frame something into rascism, then it isn’t. mentioning race doesn’t make it rascist… thanks for playing the card anyway

I agree though shoe – there is no such thing at luck… I lose at blackjack more times than I win because the odds are against me… I make money online because I work really hard… :P
