Amit from labnol did a bunch of ASCII portraits of bloggers and included yours truly!
Hi I am Jeremy Schoemaker and ShoeMoney.com is my blog. 99% of the post here are done by me but you will see others occasionally make guest posts. This blog is fun to write but for my day job I run several online companies.

Brings me back to the days of “BBS”
July 27, 2007 at 10:52 am
Wow… that’s incredible. Is that all done by hand Jeremy?
July 27, 2007 at 11:27 am
wow, how cool! I’ve only seen simple ASCII art in .nfo files.
How do you even do somthing like that!?
July 27, 2007 at 11:40 am
Actually, that’s not incredible at all. This can be done in five second by any image2ascii converter you can find online for free.
It’s a cool thing to do portraits of bloggers but that’s it.
July 27, 2007 at 12:01 pm
lol, this has inspired me to a bit of art of my own this weekend…
July 27, 2007 at 12:18 pm
That was my first impression. I was wondering which tool he used.
July 27, 2007 at 12:27 pm

July 27, 2007 at 12:29 pm

July 27, 2007 at 12:42 pm

July 27, 2007 at 12:42 pm

July 27, 2007 at 12:50 pm
I doubt it. Can you imagine doing that by hand?
July 27, 2007 at 12:51 pm
I also made the mistake of clicking the first link in the post. You have to click “Check it” to see the art
July 27, 2007 at 12:51 pm
Looks like you have steam coming off your head lol
July 27, 2007 at 1:13 pm
Seems like other people weren’t that impressed, but I was! I don’t care if he used a tool, I’ve never seen anything like this before.
July 27, 2007 at 1:26 pm
This is quite impressive. I love this type of “art.”
July 27, 2007 at 1:27 pm
Those are sweet. You know what else are cool, those dot portraits they do in the wall street journal.
July 27, 2007 at 1:28 pm
Hahaha linkbait!
July 27, 2007 at 1:31 pm
That is awesome! You should be so flattered…..so are you gonna have it blown up full oil on canvas and have it mounted above your fireplace?
July 27, 2007 at 4:51 pm
thats cool!…How Do i get me one of those : )
July 27, 2007 at 5:56 pm
This is not ascii art. ascii art is monochrome and uses the ascii letters to represent the tone. ansi art gives you 16 colors.
July 27, 2007 at 9:05 pm
just need to convert it over into one of those 3-d illusion photos then it would really rock!
July 27, 2007 at 10:11 pm
Thats some badass keyword stuffing technique from 1995 too
LOL
July 27, 2007 at 11:29 pm
Kind of hurts my eyes…. It’s like one of those photos where you have to lose focus to see the hidden sail boat.
July 28, 2007 at 9:44 pm
I’ve seen something like that before. It’s cool kinda. Wonder what we’ll think about it 50 years from now.
July 29, 2007 at 1:35 am
That is a cool picture!!!

July 29, 2007 at 7:23 pm
lol. LB101, massage thy targets ego. would have taken the guy 2 seconds to run the photo through a script and look at what he achieved
pretty impressive.
July 30, 2007 at 7:40 am
I am surprised how the ASCI art works but in this cae they must have some SW to do it.
July 30, 2007 at 9:29 am
That is amazing, i need to find a program to do that
July 30, 2007 at 5:29 pm

August 1, 2007 at 8:39 pm
Very cool portrait. I wonder what script or program they are using
August 2, 2007 at 4:58 am
I’ve seen this one before. It works great when you reduce the font size of your browser. Try using your mouse scroll with the CTRL key
August 6, 2007 at 5:30 pm
