Like i said it is a small% of non-impulse buying, but the greater reduction were concerned comes directly from some ringtone advertisers..So the point is that traffic hoseing is a greater % of lower conversions.. not the kiddies who got educated. Why would they do it? good question man… for things like reserves for carrier refunds btw in the millions for some of them, new technology and stuff like that…Its not that funny anymore is it? My co in these relationships can loose millions of dollars as we are & have been a heavy lifter in this vertical…Im not trying to be rude man i just wanted you to dig you could be me!..

I agree that you sounded better on the older shows. There were some weird random noises throughout the show as well.

Skype is a terrible program to record with. Their codec sucks.

Mtv and other big name companies are also spending (and making) huge bucks on their own ringtone projects.

It can bring some good results, but don’t rely on it. Doing basic networking — contacting the top guys, doing interviews, doing the t-shirt on Friday thing, making good comments — nothing can replace this stuff. If you constantly milk that stuff, then it’s great, but most people only get Dugg or Stumbled once or twice.

I had actually heard the exact opposite than your comments on StumbleUpon from a few different people. And you are the first one to give me the impression that a small starting flow of cash will keep Stumblers coming later on. I guess it’s worth a few bucks to test it out myself…

I’ve never read your stuff much but I did download your show rather randomly. The last 10 or so minutes of the show is really powerful. Everyone should listen to that.

Doesn’t Tacoda affect only the publishers’ cookies? From what I can gather, the 4000 sites within the Tacoda network are basically “publishers” like cars.com and usatoday.com that display CPM ads. The scenario you mentioned in your podcast might be realistic if advertisers/merchants like eHarmony or eBay signed up to be part of the Tacoda network of publishers…or if AOL decided to go through a back door to overwrite cookies for merchants’ sites. But I think both of those are very unlikely.

Shoe, your voice sounds more fuzzy and less clear with the new VOIP. The old one sounded better.

I have to disagree. I want to make some constructive criticism here.

How’s about starting out with some positive awesome stuff on your show?

Tell us about your latest wins… or maybe someone else’s – some of your listeners wins maybe.

The last two shows start out with whining and b*tching about who ever – mashable or someone this time.

Couldn’t listen to the rest after that.

    Congrats on the workout program.

The new intro is nice, but it might be even nicer if you incorporate some of this ‘rap-like’ music:

    Shoe,
In deciding who I give volume sales to in the ringtone vertical, should I pay such close attention to my own media valuation?

I ask because the cost associated with marketing in this vertical has gone up tremendously as you know.I also know that from my grass roots of media valuation forcasting that I learned in media 101 rookie school, your supposed to use a formula of avj advertiser liftime value x 15%= the cpa rate. Ive heard some lifetime value numbers from a few reliable sources which indicate that based on current market rates we are all being hearded to the 9% to ltv mark. Another words break even or at negative epc ratios.

Shoe,I know your very technical and really would like your take on this..I think Your an important voice in this vertical..

Ok, I’ve listened to the whole show and wow, great show! I personally liked the rah-rah portion of the show a lot since I’m at the beginning stages of trying to make money online. It is a lot of hard work, late nights, etc, but it is so worth it. I’m looking forward to the days when I don’t have to work for someone else! Thanks for the tips and free info :) I’ll be listening next time too :)

Jeremy: I would not have started the blog. Its a total time sink for the return.”

    Shoe,

I do agree with you that a fair % of users are not so quick to subscribe on impulse. Though it also could be possible that some ringtone advertisers are actually adding larger scrubs than needed, to offset tangable carrier scrubs.Perhaps in a greater effort to lower the overall gross per sub aquisition cost of the advertiser on the backend. Its very obvious that some of these advertisers are trying to buy subs cheaper, unfortunatly these advertisers have not yet figured out how to increase publisher epc’s into lowered cpa rates.. From some of my conversations with top flow partners in this vert. Reports of unhealthy epc’s are pouring in and on the rise. So what can we as marketers do about it shoe?
