    So sad. TW used to be the best source for SEO buzz. I’m interested to know what site people would recommend as a replacement. DP?

    @June 29, 2007 4:19 am
    Fryman Says:

    DP?? Please! That place is so full of newbies asking the same dumb questions over and over that it is a waste of time to even read a thread

    @June 29, 2007 6:28 am

    I hear ya… So which one would you guys recommend? SeoBlackHat is decent but waaay too specific with most of the posts around the same areas again and again

    @June 29, 2007 6:30 am

    Good Grief dude… don’t you remember being a noob? I do see your point on one hand but I know I’m still “trying” to learn off of that site. I am getting a little frustrated a lack of info on the azoogle topic. And like you said, same “what’s your niche” and “how did you do it” over and over.

    @June 29, 2007 6:56 am

    It is sad; when I found out yesterday I was like “no…way…”

    Wishing everybody at TW the best of luck in future endeavors.

    SBH is alright. ThreadWatch will definitely be missed.

    I might have missed it, but are you getting an iPhone, Shoe?

    @June 29, 2007 7:00 am

    i don’t think there will be a replacement. I do not understand why it does not get sold; surely it is worth something.

    Definitely will be miss and it was like a no frills, no fuss posting of news plus commentary from people who had a clue.

    I guess opinions like that are part of the reason why the site is now shut down. thx a lot.

    I had never visited. Sounds like I missed out on something great?

    Shoe,

    If you do get one iPhone, please share are a review with us.

    I love living in a beautiful tropical island, but this is one of the times where envy you guys that live the States.

    I understand Aaron’s decision 100%. You’ve said it before, blogs just don’t make that much money compared to the rest of your businesses if you’re a successful SEO/SEM. Smart move Aaron.

    No, we’re not. Believe it or not, some people really don’t care about the iPhone.

    @June 29, 2007 11:30 am

    Good luck to Aaron - I’ll be sad to see threadwatch go

    Really sorry that ThreadWatch had to go. Anyways i am sure Aaron will work on something new.

    @June 29, 2007 12:58 pm

    Threadwatch will be missed, but you have to realize that it’s THREADwatch. The original purpose was to watch the threads of forums and point out the best ones…then it turned into a place where the most notable news (seo-related news, etc.) was posted. I have news for you: no one really goes to forums anymore–have you noticed?

    So is there really any reason to keep it? Anyhow, sure, it has been one of my daily reads and it will be missed. But we’ll move on.

    Best of luck to Aaron, though (not that he needs it or anything LOL!)

    @June 29, 2007 1:00 pm

    Yeah, I’m kind of interested in the iPhone launch not because of the actual product–I most likely won’t get one since I like the keyboard and I like to be able to touch/feel when I input a letter or number.

    But, what I’m excited about is that I think the iPhone will actually change the market…especially with the cost of unlimited dataplans going down to $20 a month for the iPhone.

    @June 30, 2007 2:18 pm

    It should be sold and the buyer turn it in to a digg voting & submission system. Between all of the blogs and forums for SEO, affiliate marketing, web development, and so on, there should be a centralised site linking to the best stories.

    @June 30, 2007 4:17 pm

    Shoe, do you know who Aaron was referring to when he mentioned that Threadwatch had been persistently spammed by “friends”?

    I never visited the site or anything and I just found out about it when it was closing, but there are many members who don’t want it to close so why doesn’t the owner just sell it instead?
