Tomorrow is the last day for voting in Joel Comm’s Next Internet Millionaire Reality Show. One of the semi-finalists is a guy I know from my home town, Thor Schrock and he could really use your vote to earn him a place on the show.
Over 300 contestants auditioned for the program, and that number was reduced to the 50 best. After tomorrow the 50 will be reduced to 12. The public votes will be a huge factor in who gets in and who doesn’t, and Thor needs your help for a good cause.
If Thor is able to win the show, he has pledged to donate the $25,000 prize to some deserving local charities. This guy is sharp – he understands the value of knowledge and I believe he would do well on the show.
Take a second to vote Thor Schrock’s audition video a ‘10’ and send him to Colorado to compete.
Thor needs to be one of the top 6 guys in the competition, so he needs at least a couple hundred more ‘10’ votes to push him over the top.
He has promised that I will have first dibs on all of the NIM dirt and behind the scenes goodies, so just go vote a ’10’ and tell them I sent you.

Just voted for him and said that shoe sent me
With Shoemoney backing him he might win. “Vote for Pedro”
Very cool id love to see him on your show Shoe. Voted 10
just voted.
Anyone from my neck of the woods gets a 10 vote. Let’s get a Husker man in there and win that thing.
Yous guys cheating! lol
Nawwww! I gave him a 10 because I liked the video.
Just gave the guy a “10″
But
I didn’t tell’em you sent me
I voted for him Shoe, but you have to check out the William Sledd video, that guy is freaking insane…literally insane…
I voted a 10 because I liked the video, plus totally dig the name.
Must’ve had some comic fanatic dad to name his kid Thor!
Voted a ‘ten’
I just voted too, but how did you tell him? There is no feedback form or log-in?
what else?
How about me! Well thats the plan anyway, but who knows. Its bloody competative and hard work to become well known or to create a unique idea and port it to the web. My money is definatly on some new type of social network type thing, probably on mobile. In the mean time, I thought this would amuse you Shoe, sweet piece of link bait! Right up your street. Check out the article I wrote on Pandora (link from my name). They are just doing their day of silence! P.s… Are you coming to Ad:Tech London?
Cheers,
Allan S
Ok gave him the big 10 – go Thor!
I’ll go and vote now. Dave Taylor tried to persuade me to submit an audition video, but I was too camera shy. Did anyone else audition?
Thank you for the writeup Shoe and thanks to all of your readers who are voting for me. There is already a TON of back-story developing on this whole contest and it will be interesting to see how it all pans out! Thanks for your votes!
Hey ,I just voted you 10! And will it help if I voted everyone else 1?
THOR! Bringin’ The THUNDER Baby!
Count me in for a 10!
I just gave a vote for him. Gee, I totally forgot that this thing was still around; perhaps it needs some more publicity to keep it on top of people’s minds.
I haven’t paid much attention to this but it is a neat idea.. and I like the idea that Thor will give the cash to some charities in your neck of the woods.. he’s got my vote..
I just voted for Thor as well. Best of luck.
p.s. I was meant to at least adition for this reality show as well (Joel sent an invite), but I am under a contractual obligation for the next couple of months and just couldn’t do it
. I hope I don’t end up kicking myself later.
Bald Bald Bald…ALL over this site! And THOR gets the nod! What’s a fellow Bald Man to do???
The video was very well done, I must say. I liked it a lot.
He looks like a Thor, too, which is kinda cute.
I agree nice entry video.
Voted for him just now.
I was actually voting for someone else all this time, but after reading Shoe’s post and watching Thor’s video, I really feel Thor should get a shot at the big prize.
I’m really surprised they didn’t get more than 300+ contestants! For someone with his kind of marketing power I would think entries would be in the thousands.
Nevertheless, it seems like a great idea. I’m kind of wishing I had entered and it should be fun to watch.
His overall score is pretty low. I gave him a 10 though
What an awesome name – Thor! Reminds me of Adventures in Babysitting. Great movie. Don’t f*ck with the babysitter!
Me too.
Funny, at 0:28, it looks like he’s breaking into the ATM.
I’m an idiot. That’s not an ATM.
eh!
I sent a vote Thor’s way too… get that dirt!
Spoofs always get bonus points in my book, especially spoofs done well.
“Not made for adsense!”
I would NEVER ask you to do that even though it would help elevate me in the standings and increase the likelihood of me getting on the show…
Everyone who votes a 10 for one person is voting ones for everyone else, so the scores are all averaging around 5 – unless you have a YouTube channel with 56,000 subscribers like William Sledd!
Please ask your network to vote for me as well! Thanks for your support and your vote!
So how did it go?
Hey Shoe, you were supposed to send me your readers votes man, I am the youngest guy left in the top 50!
I think this is a great idea. I wonder how long before people are watching half their TV shows on the internet instead of a regular TV. You got to admit that internet ad dollars are much better spent than TV dollars, and more are going to be moving to the internet.
lol, I saw his video and my reaction is exactly as you wrote it, I definitely don’t see him going to the top 12 (how did he even make the top 50?)
I was thinking the same think, especially with new programs like Joost and Babelgum appearing which mimic TV
As for this show, it looks interesting, I was too late to vote for Thor this round, but I will try to during the next level (hopefully he makes it)
Can I vote for me?
wish i was in the shoe
lucky Thor, he’s going to make it for sure especially with Shoe behind him
donating $25000 to charity is the least he could do, becuase if he’s the winner, he’s walking away with a lot of knowledge and joint partnership with Joel Comm on a project.
Okay..gave him a 10.
why no one is voting for me loll..
What is the progress with this contest?? Any winner yet??
