Dr ShoeMoney Launches Running My Ass Off

by Jeremy Schoemaker on June 18, 2007 · 28 comments

When my wife gets into something she doesn’t mess around. After I beat her in our family challenge on the 25th of april she became supercharged and started getting into running… and long distance running at that.

She started a blog Running My Ass Off where she is putting up posts as she progresses. She also takes a few shots at dillsmack after beating him in a 20 mile challenge.

If you are a runner please challenge her through the nike+ system. It will make her day.

So people wonder where I get my drive from… Well my wife is a anesthesiologist. She works at least 60 hours a week. Yet she runs for 7 miles at a time and also is a mother to our daughter AND keeps pretty much everything operational in the house.

So ya when I talk about surrounding yourself with success…

Like Travel Notebook, I haven’t heard about the Nike+ system but seems helpful–but again, I’m probably the farthest from being a runner as you could imagine.

On the other hand, I’ll challenge anyone to a swim in the pool!

I’ve been running for a few years now, but for some reason I never really knew how many miles I was doing at a time. Nike+ sounds very interesting indeed.

Hats off to Mrs Shoe! Among her long list of responsibilities, being a mother is probably the most commendable.

well it was run 1 mile and make 50 baskets. She beat me in the mile by about a lap and 1/2 but I made it up in the basketball portion and won by only 3 baskets. slim margin

And she’s in great shape – the nike+ info is showing she’s turning ~7 min miles. Read that as hauling ass.

1 month ago I made a promise to run every day until 31th of December of this year.

After 2 weeks sticking to it I got a flu for running on a windy and rainy day…

Soon I will get back on track though.

It’s very difficult to read that blog. The background is so dark.

7 miles … wow it’s something . I hope i will end up running so much one day :)

7 miles is quite a long distance , hope i’ll make it and run that much one day . Besides that , your wife must have an extra pack of energy is she works 60 hours per week and still finds time to run .

I like the look and feel of that site. I don’t like running. I was in the Army and ran all the time. Now I hate running.

Hands down – she’s impressive! I will be following her on the blog but gotta tell you it will take me a couple years of training before I will even see a run for a full mile without walking!

Cool tool Nike put out…

My hat is off to your wife, though I wouldn’t run even if I was being chased. That’s why we have tazers.

Well, I would rather jump from a building instead of doing half the things she does in a week.. Whew!

>>well it was run 1 mile and make 50 baskets
next time it needs to be make 50 baskets and THEN run one mile. I bet that there would be a big difference in the times if you switched it around a bit.
