EDIT:
Ok screw international shipping its the biggest pain in the ass ever. I tried to make it work and its clearly going to take more time then I care to put into it. Back to flate 5$ domestic shipping.
I was pretty impressed to see how many shirts have been sold! I will keep the white shirts at 75% off until tomorrow. (only 1.25 apiece)
Why do you want a white shoemoney shirt? Heh, ask anyone who ever has worn one to a conference! Also we will be having contests and giving out prizes at future conferences for those who are spotted in a SM shirt
AND If you take a picture of yourself in the shirt and send it you will be posted in the friends and fans gallery along with a link to your site.

125 shirts! Wow, you are going to have mobile billboards all over the country now!
Shoe, you gotta use a better cart than the oscommerce though! Why not code something yourself?
I’d have liked to have more options for shipping too… 9 bucks and up is a bit pricey for a 1.25 shirt.
Don’t get me wrong, I paid it, I just didn’t like to lol.
How much is regular shipping to U.S.? I dont see it anywhere and I dont feel like wasting my time creating an account just to add 1 to my cart and get turned away by high shipping. I sell clothes online, and something like this should be pretty simple for pricing domestic shipping.
see it was fine and I did have a flat rate then everyone bitched that I didnt have international shipping so now its integrated with usps to pull real time shipping rates based on zipcodes with all available options…
and people still bitch
Good thing I am not in the shirt business
dude why are you so annoying srsly
Doesn’t the USPS have that $3 flat-rate envelope? I’m sure you can shove a t-shirt into one of those big envelopes, and charge $3 / shirt for S/H.
What an awesome idea. walking billboards… How about this –> Shoemoney Moneyshoes? It could be to Search Engine Marketers like Crocks are to boaters and just about everyone else. Speaking of Crocks, it never ceases to amaze me how popular these ugly little shoes are. The evolution of the old lady gardening shoe… Unbelievable!
Your currency module is fucked up, since when is dollar worth more then EUR ? =)
$26 postage to the UK for a $1.25 shirt,
I really wanted one but that is crazy!
P.S. I know it is not your charge, but surely there are cheaper shippers?
Okay Jeremy, but you have to have a look at this. I’m from Bulgaria. Never mind that the cheapest shipping avaieble is Express Mail International (EMS) Flat Rate Envelope $26.00, I’ve decided to order. But when it comes to the final step is says – United States Postal Dervice (1 x 5lbs) (Global Express Guaranteed): $153.00
Wow! It just doesn’t works. I’ve selected it like 4 or 5 times and every time the total is 153.00 for a 1.25 shirt. Please, have a look at that. Btw I’m running Debian with Firefox, but on my iBook it’s the same
Wow, glad I got mine for $5 shipping last night, it is $13.87 today for shipping for 1 T.
Hrm. I am just sharing some experience that we had with oscommerce. We found that there are better solutions out there because oscommerce has had some bugs and security problems. That’s all.
Just wanted to at least register and check how much shipping to Germany was but in the register form I can only select “United States” as country… Am I the only one having that problem? Seems as if every other European is fine…
Damn – I read the international shipping option, rushed to buy one, but Shoemoney had already dropped it. That’s $1.25 he’ll have to live without
Shoe has to LOSE at least 5$ per shirt selling them for 1.25$
I am sure he is crushed
Dude, just use Google Checkout. You can create a button that will send ‘em to the checkout without having to really write any code. I used it on a site I had, before I got banned from checkout.
Also, no fees through the end of the year with them.
Oh, forgot to mention the important part. I was gonna say that I am pretty sure they support international, but since I am banned, I can’t check to make sure.
Ordered my 5 large, 5 med and 3 small babydolls
Yep, GC is awesome they have it so you can send invoices too. Works great for ppl who want to pay you with CC and now no fees!!!
I think he said he’s doing only US shipping now..
That is pretty sweet, I’ll have to check it out..
Hey, that’s a lot of shirts sold! Awesome! I’ve noticed that your shirts only go up to XL–some of us “like them big”, especially if I’m going to buy one for my wife–she likes to hang out in big (really big) tshirts!
Any chance on getting a 3x or 4x or heck, even a 2x shirt?
@Brent–you’re banned? How can you be banned?
people will always find stuff to complain about. Even when they can get a cool shirt for only 1.25!
Shoe – Could you hold the sale on the white shirts until the international shipping is up? I live in Canada, and would love to pick up some of the white ones for $1.25 each!
So, if i buy 2 or 3 shirts at the same time do i pay $5 shipping for each one?
I just purchased 3 and it was a flat $5. Thanks Shoe!
I just purchased 3 and it was $5.00 flat. Thanks Shoe!
I was selling something on their list of stuff you can’t sell using checkout. There’s a list somewhere on the site and I didn’t read it first.
Shoe,
i had to pay $10.00 shipping to california. Why is that?
Harrison
In a way, this is a humorous post. But it also points out the problems that many small biz’s face in today’s market place. Shipping is a beaatch!
Fortunately for me, it looks like Shoe has not decided to cater to the Big Folk market
Don
Since you don’t offer international shipping anymore, did you think about using a service like http://www.spreadshirt.net/?lang=en&locale=GB ?
orly? what were u selling?
Just ordered two, can’t wait to get them.
I too had to shut down international shipping on my previous venture before it was sold (e-commerce site) due to wacky shipping rates. The worst part was, after international users were quoted their new rate – most ended up taking their business elsewhere. This really ate up my time!
I guess I’ll tell. It was actually Powerball tickets. See only 30 states can sell Powerball so I catered to the other 20. GC doesn’t allow lottery tickets. Paypal neither, so I would need to create my own merchant account basically or use a much pricier service. It is legal though there are a number of caveats to look out for if you do this. After a few orders I was banned. Wish I could have tested for a month instead of 3 days.
all you need is the showmoney visa card
I wasn’t trying to bitch, just getting a general idea. I understand issues with this kind of stuff.
I understand why you had to take down international shipping, it’s just sad that I didn’t get here in time. Being from Canada I might have had a chance to get shipping for about $8.
I think it’s been a year since I “forgot” to visit the blog everyday.
Anyway, nice t-shirts, Shoe. Best of luck to sell more
that has to be coming, right?
I ordered a few black ones -
im going to order a few black ones too, hope this doesnt happen tomorrow night :S
I would like to buy one but do you post Europe and do you have XXL? I am 207cm tall 6’10 so I realy need long T-shirt.
So in this case I could be one of your largest mobile billboards
)
Ha Shoemoney crocks would be funny, but perhaps not as visible. The popularity is amazing – there was even a company that sold decorations for Crocks that sold for multi-millions.
I feel better now knowing that I am not the only one who has had frustrations with shopping cart software.
I’d be interested in knowing if anything has changed in the last 4 years. Have you found a good way to manage international shipping? Even better… What do you use to calculate shipping charges to your customers?
