Unfortunately I am not going to be able to make the Search Marketing Expo and I am a bit pissed about it but I already had made prior plans before it was announced =(. I am sure it will kick ass though. It is June 4-5, 2007 at Seattle, WA. I keep thinking in the back of my head I might be able to go… I really want to. Maybe we can make something work.
Affiliate Summit East is going on in Miami, FL July 8-10 and I will be there. I am on the schedule as a speaker on monetizing community websites with Lee Dodd of Earners Forum.
Also speaking of Affiliate Summit and Earners Forum CPA Affiliates is having a contest to give away 10 expo passes to ASE. If you ever wanted to check out what the conference stuff was about this could be your ticket in.
I was really surprised at all the attendees at Affiliate Summit West. I am going to be doing a good conference comparison post soon.

Any tips on how unknown but reliable merchants can get some great affiliates at the summit?

Same here… Europe is crazy about blogging, but good marketing summits are a scarce ressource here.

Jeremy, do you have any idea about how many conferences do you attend yearly? and from 0 to 10 what is the importance of being that active?
Networking is the BEST part about all the conferences. If you have never attended any fo them choose one make it out to it but plan to network.. these conferences are what you make of them… they could be a big BOMB if all you do is grab freebies and take the networks speal but if you sell yourself and network it is well worth it!
I was hoping to be able to make it (or speak) at SMX, but looks like I will have to pass on it this year–looks like I’m planning on speaking over at Pubcon in Vegas again this year.
I agree with “CPA Affiliates”, though, networking at the conferences is a MUST, and if you haven’t gone to any of the conferences then you definitely should make an excuse to go–whether Shoemoney is making an appearance or not!
