Lost Season Finale, UFC 71, Taking Dr J Down

by Jeremy Schoemaker on May 27, 2007 · 25 comments

Busy last couple of days few things I wanted to catch up on.

1- on friday I defeated my wife, Dr Shoemoney in our 2nd “Shoemoney biathalon” (its supposed to be a triatholon but the damn pool is always closed when we do it. It was a very close race but my training paid off and in the end I was victorious. The first time we did it I could not even run 1/2 mile I had to walk the rest. This time I ran the full mile (first time in my life) and then rained baskets like I was at a carnival.

2- UFC 71 – I had mixed emotions on the main event. While I have partied with Chuck Liddel and he is a super cool guy in person ShoeMoney Media INC has business ties with Rampage Jacksons camp so business wise it was good for us that he won but I did not like to see Chuck lose. I thought Chris Leben sucked I dunno why that guy is in the ufc

The shocker of the night is the DJ from Omaha taking down the “Dean of Mean” how awesome was that…

3- Lost Season Finale – Holy crap how awesome was the lost season finale. I thought it was very well done.

LOST was amazing. I guess there’s another timeline. Maybe Locke is going to have to fix it? So many questions, haha.

Congrats on the win! Glad to see your training paid off. Competition is a great motivation tool, so you gotta bring the stakes even higher for the next one.

Rampage is scary dude. Hopefully he won’t GSP it up and lose the title in his first defense. Din’s postfight comments were pretty nasty too.

Grats on the victory.

Lost was awesome, they ended the season off with a bang. Probably the best of the 3 finales I cared about (24, Lost, Heroes). Now we just have to wait till January to see what happens next. *sigh*

He definately has a tough title defense ahead of him. Leben was okay in the fight but Starnes was the better man. Leben may get another fight but losing 3-of-4 is always a killer.

Wish I watched Lost on a regular basis! I watched a couple episodes and it seemed like a really cool show. I’ll have to catch the finally myself as it sounds like it was pretty dang good.

I can’t believe I’m actually saying this, but congratulations on beating your wife. I had a feeling you were going to win — alas, redemption! ;)

It’s sad that the American audience booed him like that. In Pride, NOBODY booed, ever. The American audience sucks, plain and simple. If the UFC markets Rampage the right way, he’ll bea fan fav. for along time coming. He’s a character man, how can anyone not like him? Unless you’re racist of course. BTW, has anyone told you you look like Marc Laimon?

Lost was awesome. My prediction … Ben is in the box!

Alexander was awesome. Too bad it wasn’t a longer fight. Liddell got stopped too early. 4 or 5 more punches and I can see stopping it but that was too early.

[applause]Very well said.
True MMA fans would not have booed a guy who dominated over in Pride. Anyone who saw Rampage beat Chuck up 4 years ago wouldn’t have been shocked over this lose. I like Chuck, but Rampage has his number. Hopefully Dana and the boys won’t waste time on a 3rd fight between the two.

I loved Chuck on entourage. “Whats a Chuck Liddel?”

I ran a mile the other day. I haven’t done it for a awhile. It’s quite a feat.

The Lost finale was amazing. Quite a turn with the flash-forwards. Very cool. Based on something I read on Lostpedia today, the strong speculation based on that little clipping Jack was reading before he went to the funeral parlor is that that was Michael in the casket (traitor who shot Libby and Ana Lucia). And that Walt was, by that time, dead, I believe they said. Pretty interesting stuff all around.

Yeah, I was all fanboi’d on LOST this last week. I predict that Ben is in the Casket, that the Smoke Monster can make “appearances” as reanimated dead (Walt, Boone, anyone appearing to Locke basically…especially Jacob!), that the guy that Kate has to “get home to him” in the future is her toddler son, and that part of the Hanso foundation is on the boat.

Talk about dropping a bomb!
After a disappointing Heroes finale I was praying for LOST to deliver, and boy did it deliver.
They really shook things up. Till now the Others were the evil group. But now the real bad guys are coming!

S3 just became my favourite season and the finale my favourite LOST episode.

Hey Pallab, glad to see someone else thought the Heroes finale sucked! Man, what a let down.

The Lost finale was EXCELLENT by the way. I think John will replace Ben as the leader of the “OTHERS” then they’ll have to duke it out with the “OTHERS” who are not on the Island yet. I also think Charlie will pull through somehow.

I have to say, I don’t really follow UFC, but was still surprised to hear that Lidell lost. Any idea who was favored and by how much?

Aha !!

I figured you’d improve.. but not that much !

Well done !

The hardest part of course will be choosing the food.. remind Mrs Shoemoney.. no snacking on bubs food ! :)

Congrats on the win and running your first mile… Lost was amazing, I sort of felt sad when I saw the last scene and how that whole thing was, I didn’t really like seeing them off the island.

I was pissed about the fight. I really wanted to see Jackson give Chuck one of his kickass slams. Highlight of the night was watching Parisyan send Burkman flying.

Sorry for being late to the LOST party – but – the finale was good, I am not sure about the flash forward thing – does this mean the final three seasons we’ll see flash forwards of how their lives turn out after they leave the island? I think that will get old pretty quickly. Just my $.02
