Hey Plumbing Knowledge guys I have a questions srsly… I just went to buy a new dish washer for our kitchen and they said I have to have a licensed professional plumber install it… why is that? I dont need a plumber for a refridgerator or dish washer… wazzup???
Thanks for the free shirt!
About Free shirt friday: companies or site owners send me shirts for free and I take a pic in them and write about them. If you would like to send me a free shirt contact susan at shoemoney.com and she can give you the address. BTW I wear a XL t-shirt (cause they shrink) or normally a large dress shirt.

When I get ‘em printed, I’ma mail you a couple straight away… It’s XL for me too… The guns bursting through of course

I am a new subscriber to shoemoney so I don’t know anything about this t-shirt thing; however, with the current proceeds of my blog I’ll send you what I can. So far I can afford to send you a used miniature cracked ceramic cowboy boot with a lucky penny inside (the closest thing to “shoemoney” I have). I may need you to pay for shipping though.
So dust off a spot on your mantel and ready a gold-plated display case. You are about to be bribed beyond belief.

Sweet shirt. I really need to get some printed up for the free press if nothing else…

I installed my dishwasher myself and it doesn’t leak like the old one. I ran the old one straight to the drain
when the kitchen was torn up and I needed to wash dishes.
However being as you make so much money they probably think you need to support your local plumber and pay.

How many you got so far total? 100?
May 27, 2007 at 3:47 am
I’ll have to get him a t-shirt – so for giggles. How many does he have?

I remember installing a dishwasher back in the day (about 1985). They told us we could do it ourself. We should have hired a plumber

All the more reason to send over a shirt to Shoemoney. Great promotion Shoemoney. Maybe we should all pick up on this promotion? When did you start doing this as a regular part of your blog?
May 26, 2007 at 5:28 pm
Well, over here in the UK, we don’t need licenced plumbers to install dishwashers. They seem pretty easy to install, but I’ve never done it personally, but, I suppose it depends on whether you’re a DIY type of person or not.
It sounds like maybe the store was trying to make extra money out of you?

Groovin’ T Shoe.
BTW, I’ve never heard of needing a licensed Plumber needed to install a dishwasher or any other appliance. (i’m in real estate/construction and work with a lot of trades)
I’d also check that T for fingerprints, never know where a Plumbers hands have been…=)

Just what the world needs more plumbers and a place to show off some “plumber’s crack”…Nice T Shoe.

I think free t-shirt friday is a cool idea. I’ll have to make a shirt and send it your way..
May 26, 2007 at 5:14 am
You must have a lot of t-shirts this way, I guess you never bother buying any, right?
May 26, 2007 at 4:17 am
Your blog gets enough readership for something a little better than a shirt. Why not target for a car
May 26, 2007 at 12:12 am
Thats one of the better shirts I’ve seen.

Ditto what PK said about installing a dishwasher is actually pretty easy. However, be careful pushing it in that you don’t put a crease in the door … I speak from personal experience that your wife will NOT be happy about what you just did to her “brand new dishwasher”
May 25, 2007 at 7:08 pm
haha – Its “free shirt” friday
So send a mug AND A SHIRT
May 25, 2007 at 6:23 pm
No point telling him. You think shoe does his own laundry?
May 25, 2007 at 5:57 pm
Hope it is big enough for 1 more. Got to get Shoe a shirt in the mail.
May 25, 2007 at 4:56 pm
You drink coffee? How about a nice mug?
May 25, 2007 at 4:24 pm
wash them with cold water and they won’t shrink…
May 25, 2007 at 4:07 pm
Hey Shoe, can we sent you other cool stuff? We have some neato stuff from Bahamas that’s way cooler than a t-shirt. They’re 4 for 10$ here … after all.
May 25, 2007 at 3:46 pm
Well, seems like plubming knowledge comes in handy one more time
May 25, 2007 at 3:12 pm
The answer to your question,
Usually things like dishwashers, use hard plumbing or fittings that have to be sweated , or compression fittings
These appliances are not considered “do-it-yourself” installs
Like a refrig just has an icemaker, usually its a simple saddle valve and they actually sell icemaker kits as a “do-it-yourself” item.
Going back to the dishwasher , you have the waste line, and the domestic water line, and the fact that you need “real” tools….makes it a job for the licensed plumber,
Or at least they tell you that,
A simple dishwasher replacement is kinda easy for anyone with a cresent wrench and a screwdriver
Thanks for posting the shirt dude!!
Enjoy it
May 25, 2007 at 3:10 pm
He puts them in the t-shirt room obviously.
May 25, 2007 at 3:08 pm
Dude how big is your closet holding all of these free tshirts?
