Help Akamai Fix Their Webmaster Radio Feeds

by Jeremy Schoemaker on May 16, 2007 · 17 comments

Since switching over to Akamai last fall many users have emailed me saying they can’t listen to the live stream on webmasterradio.fm. Whenever it was brought up in the chat room everyone was told Akamai was busy working to find the solution and it would be coming soon.

Well its been over 6 months now and I had lost all hope but now evidently they have figured out it is on their provider Akamai and if you are one of the many users who can no longer listen to webmaster radio since they switched over to Akamai you can make a support ticket and help Akamai find out where the issue is.

I lose the feed every day I listen. Podcasts download slowly. Overall, very frustrating considering what Akamai costs to use.

I always heard good things about Akamai. Looks like they really screwed Webmasterradio

Yeah, they need to fix their podcast download too – it’s currently missing when I tried to download yesterday’s Net Income show

I guess Akamai doesn’t consider WMR to be a big enough client to deal with their issues.

Does anyone know if this is only for WMR issue or for all their customers?

Last year I used to listen to shows live all the time. But since last fall I have not been able to listen to Shoemoney or SEO Rockstars live. I’ve tried to catch the podcasts, but I haven’t even been able to download Shoemoney’s show via iTunes since April 3 or so.

I don’t know what the deal is but it has been a bit of a bummer.. it was good stuff. They lost at least one loyal listener due to technical issues.

I’ve also asked about it in the Webmasterradio IRC chat room – a BUNCH of times – but nobody ever responds to me. Ever. Its kind of weird. So I’ve stopped asking. And I don’t bother trying to catch the live shows anymore..

I just learned today from Neil Patel that there was a webmaster radio. I tried to PM him and I guess he was doing the show. I am going to check it out.
