Neil Patel Launched a new blog that you should add to your RSS reader. Its called Quicksprout and its more Neil’s personal blog.
If you don’t think good things can happen to you, just look at me. About 6 months ago, no one in the online marketing industry knew about me yet in the last few months I have been covered in multiple trade publications such as the Wall Street Journal. I’ve also had job offers of six figures that would have let me finish college and work from home. A six figure income isn’t enough to retire on by any stretch but at 21 years old these aren’t bad offers at all.
He already has a bunch of great out of the box marketing techniques and I suspect its only going to get better!
Plus can you really not trust a pimp with a black amex? srsly?

I had the pleasure of exchanging a few AIM messages with Neil today. Very nice guy! I am subscribed to his blog and look forward to ready his work.

a) I’m sick of the utterly tedious cult of personality in our industry
b) I don’t give a flying f*ck how much money you make, you boring little sh*t. It’s incredibly crass to flaunt financial trappings the way you and your tiresome wannabee pals do
c) The other plastic item in your trousers is undoubtedly your d*ck.
d) F*ck off

Displays of credit card/wealth – is the intent here that readers are to be impressed? Because it wasn’t my initial reaction.
I guess if you want to go that route that’s fine. But can’t he get his own schtick? That amex card is a complete rip from Shoemoney’s big check pics. While blatant displays of wealth as a means of self promotion are better suited for late night TV ads (and better suited for that viewing audience, rather than this community), if you’re going to do it at least get your own gig.
May 15, 2007 at 4:06 pm
I’m gathering it’s a joke site? Surely he’s not serious?
May 12, 2007 at 10:45 am
Well they did get it when it was only £100000 a year spend
May 11, 2007 at 5:25 pm
Oh my. “I’m kind of a big deal.”
I kind of just threw up in my mouth a little.
May 11, 2007 at 5:10 pm
kinda hard to pay with cash for pay per click ads..
May 11, 2007 at 8:15 am
I think that you need to get “invited” to get a black Amex. Supposedly they have a concierge service that can get you into any club, restaurant, etc. Pretty neat!
May 11, 2007 at 8:14 am
I had the chance to meet Neil Patel (at the last Elite Retreat) and chat with him until way after the bar closed. He is a great guy and very very smart. I’m really glad I had the chance to meet him.
May 10, 2007 at 3:14 pm
Yeah, a big fat roll of bills…
May 10, 2007 at 2:45 pm
So he created those programs?…I have tried the crazyegg heat map thingy.
May 10, 2007 at 2:42 pm
Who is he?…time to do some research..if he has a black card he is doing something right!
May 9, 2007 at 10:00 pm
Thanks for the heads up on another blog to read, bookmarked!
May 9, 2007 at 9:58 pm
Man, I definately have Credit Card envy too. I want a Black Amex!
May 9, 2007 at 8:35 pm
VERY high yearly fee’s…. screw credit cards… get a debit and an emergency fund!
May 9, 2007 at 5:58 pm
Damnit Neil, That’s the most important part! Seriously good luck with Quicksprout. It took 6 months to get you from 0 to hero. This time around it should take 1/2 as long.
May 9, 2007 at 1:53 pm
Really? Then why is mine green? I spend more than that in a few months. Hmmm. I’ll have to see if I can put that extra $2500 into my budget somewhere for next year.
May 9, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Should I thank or scold? Tough call. Either way, they’re memorable.
May 9, 2007 at 11:49 am
you get your own personal assistant i hear apart from a bunch of other stuff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centurion_Card
May 9, 2007 at 9:32 am
What are the advantages of this black card anyways? Besides impressing everyone on the internet of course
May 9, 2007 at 9:13 am
yeah I;ve heard you get a personal assistant who will get you a plane ticket even if the airline is sold out. I think they have to kill people for that though.
May 9, 2007 at 9:11 am
Mine came in black all sharpied out, now it’s Blue.
May 9, 2007 at 9:03 am
I once had a Black Amex, the color washed off from all the spending it’s Blue now
May 9, 2007 at 8:59 am
Thanks for the tip, Shoe. I will add him to my ever-expanding list. Sometimed I wonder if blogging is beginning to become a full time jjob for me… So much to read, so little time!
May 9, 2007 at 7:10 am
I love Neil without having ever met him. I’m 23, and this guy makes me feel old an unaccomplished with the way he’s shot up. He’s definitely an inspiration to keep the fire lit under my ass.
May 9, 2007 at 5:48 am
Black Amex are easy to get in the UK, My mum and brothers got them no problem! I love all the cool stuff you get with it and how easy it is to get into places normally reserved for celebs.
May 8, 2007 at 9:10 pm
Sweet, only another 230K this year and it’s mine!
May 8, 2007 at 8:12 pm
hmm seems like another blog i’ll be checking out daily
May 8, 2007 at 7:01 pm
The pimp is in the perks right Neil? Personal shoppers, a personal concierge and travel agent, free airline tickets, and hotel rooms.
Wikipedia says fewer than 10,000 cards have been issued worldwide primarily to business moguls and celebrities. You’re a ‘Business Mogul’, that’s pretty slick!
May 8, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Dang, just flashing that black amex ard will get you places! haha
I went to NP blog, he can command up to six figure salary if he wants to. That’s amazing. Blogs can really get your places eh
May 8, 2007 at 6:26 pm
It is also the part with the credit card number.
May 8, 2007 at 5:00 pm
She was like, ‘Oh my God, is that a black card?’ I turned around and replied ‘Why yes, but I prefer the term “African American Express”
-Kanye
May 8, 2007 at 4:05 pm
Yes most cards liek Amex visa etc will all offer you a credit or cash back but when you are spending the back you dont care abotu the cash back you would rather free trip to paris first class etc…
May 8, 2007 at 4:01 pm
Thats really not that much to spend in a Year doing PPC.
May 8, 2007 at 3:56 pm
Methinks it’s not an accident that his fingers are covering the bottom part of the card – you know, the part where a name would be printed?
May 8, 2007 at 3:14 pm
Seems like a cool guy, i will be checking it out
May 8, 2007 at 3:07 pm
To qualify for one, Wiki says that you have to spend $250,000+ on another AMEX card
May 8, 2007 at 3:07 pm
Nah, that’s the annual fee but you gotta spend at least $250,000 within a rolling 12 month period.
May 8, 2007 at 3:05 pm
Put all your business spending on the black amex and I’m sure you’d qualify
May 8, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Shoemoney, didn’t you mention something a while back about using a credit card to reinvest the cash back into more PPC?
May 8, 2007 at 2:48 pm
You can keep your black Amex. Personally, I think it’s more pimp to use cash
May 8, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Well the concierge service is supposed to be pretty nice.
May 8, 2007 at 2:36 pm
Talk about brilliant marketing by the folks at AMEX. My CC pays me to use their card (1%-5% cash back). Why would anyone pay for the privilege of using a credit card? Oh Yeah, so they could post pictures of them self holding the card on the Internet.
May 8, 2007 at 2:27 pm
The fee isn’t monthly – it’s $2500 annually. The card actual name is Centurion.
May 8, 2007 at 2:26 pm
By the way, you seriously need to do something about that photo, it’s taking a long time to load even on my ultra-fast connection here.
For those of you who want more info about the Centurian card, check out this page here.
May 8, 2007 at 2:25 pm
Sorry correction. That’s the minimum that you can spend annually on the card.
May 8, 2007 at 2:22 pm
A Black Amex merely requires that you spend between $75,000 – $100,000 per year on the card. If you have an Amex and spend that much you will get one.
May 8, 2007 at 2:22 pm
Congrats, Neil. I ill definitely be checking out the blog. Just goes to show that if you buy enough text link ads every month and know how to convert traffic then a black card and its associated monthly fee isn’t really an issue.
May 8, 2007 at 2:16 pm
Lol you should see him in his PJs.
May 8, 2007 at 2:06 pm
A BLACK CARD do you guys know how much it costs to get a black card and KEEP one up its a 2500 a month fee from what i’ve read… I want one
May 8, 2007 at 2:01 pm
You have to thank Shoemoney and Greg Hartnett for the tranny pics. LOL
May 8, 2007 at 1:45 pm
I will be checking it out. NP has made a huge leap just goes to show u any can do it if they think out of the box.
May 8, 2007 at 1:11 pm
I’ve got a black AmEx. Took me hours with a Sharpie, but I’ve got one.
Now he just needs to learn reputation management. The tranny princess act just doesn’t do it for me.
May 8, 2007 at 12:54 pm
Heh. Credit card envy.
May 8, 2007 at 12:47 pm
newp I just have the plat
Maybe next year.
May 8, 2007 at 12:44 pm
Holy crap, he has one of those black Amex cards? LOL. Balling out of control I say. Hey Shoe, do you have one of those cards?
May 8, 2007 at 12:25 pm
Yea, crazyegg is the shizz and pronet is also one for RSS. I’ve never met NP but he’s a nice, honest dude from my few interactions with him. Pimping with the black amex
