Goatse.cx and Patents.com For Sale

Posted on: April 21st, 2007 by Jeremy Schoemaker

Goatse.cx which Yahoo reports has over 15,000 backlinks is for sale on seobidding

Now if you have never seen the site its VERY GRAPHIC adult content (although not right now) and it appears to be banned in google (no pr or indexed pages). Goat.cx although extreamly vulger has maanged to get a ton of super high quality links from slashdot and several news papers online. If the tool bar ever did turn green I would think it would be pr 6-7 domain.

Anyway I thought it was interesting to see it for sale.

While we are talking about interesting domains for sale I got a email the other day letting me know that patents.com/.net was for sale. I had previously inquired with the owner and I guess he has had a few inquiries cause he decided to put it up for private auction.

The auction is going until June 15th and the bid is currently at placed 4 days ago is $350,000.00. I expect this to go well into the millions. (Shoestradomus official guess is 5 million)

Its owned by a lawfirm who I think is pretty retarded for not doing it on eBay or a reputable auction place. Who knows really what people are bidding you have to take there word for it..

You can check out the auction here if you care.

I hate Domainers! It seems the better known you get the more they try and blackmail you for to get your dropped domain back.

Imagine how many adwords bids you could buy for 5 million that would show up before the 5th place ranking of patent.com.

Sorry, but no way in hell any domain is worth that much. Simply spending the same money branding an entirely new domain would be significantly more effective.

Last time I saw a mention of goatse.cx, the TLD authority for .cx had banned the domain.

    Sounds like it’s back – with a vengeance :P

John Reece bought Income.com for $1.0m, didn’t he? Goatse.cx is an internet meme – so surely it’s got to sell for more than that.

my offer was just to give them a revshare of whatever I did with it. They were not interested ;) . At the time (2 years ago) I thought I could make 1-2M a year off of it.

Im also surprised that they didnt list it on a reputable auction site.

    What was your offer?
