Are You A MySpace Marketer? Check out MySpace Pros

by Jeremy Schoemaker on March 12, 2007 · 40 comments

I have dabbled a little in myspace Marketing. Being that 85% of people between the ages of 16 and 25 in the USA have a myspace account how really can you not test those waters?

Anyway a few months ago I stumbled onto this forum and I thought it was pretty hot but not a lot of meat. Well they have really got the ball rolling there and some good posts about making money with myspace as well as a nice marketplace to buy some bling for your myspace accounts.

Now they just started a contest for a Playstation 3

To celebrate our growth and promote our products, we’re giving away a
Sony PS3 to one of our users on March 19th – and after that we have
another great contest lined up with over $1,000 in prizes. We’re not
giving prizes for padding post counts, so the information is of good
quality.

Pretty hot…. Check out here for more info

Hmmm… I wonder if anyone over at MySpace would buy power tools. I just need to find the right angle…

I’ve looked into it, but I dislike MySpace so much that I haven’t brought myself to doing it…yet

The forum is attracting some great designers which is a boon for us Myspace resource site owners who don’t have time to design our own stuff. There is some really high quality stuff for sale there.
Another thing I like about the forum is that it is honest and not full of people telling you how to make a quick buck by spamming the life out of Myspace.Great for honest webmasters who wish to build a long term, profitable Myspace resource site.

MySpace is a good marketing area, in the end. They say that there are about 56 million people there. This should be a good opportunity to promote just about…anything, no?

You should mention that you have to buy something from them in order to be entered into the giveaway for the PS3. The blurb makes it sound like you sign up for an account and then get hooked up with an entry.

Myspace is great for marketing if you can wrap your head around what works and what doesn’t.

I started to work on a MySpace angle but never got serious on it. I guess I’ll need to revisit that.

Yeah, that’s certainly a catch to the whole offer.

I’ve been planning on marketing on MySpace but haven’t got my head around how it works completely. Maybe I’m old-skool but looking at too many Myspace pages in one day makes my head spin lol.

Felt like I had to really dig around the forums to find much meat. Good forum if you are looking for people who will sell you myspace traffic and glitter graphics.

I think DP has better angles on marketing towards the myspace sector. Thanks for the link.

Does anyone really do any MySpace marketing that’s worth anything? (other than webcam babes, of course)

Have you seen the thread about MySpace marketing being dead over at Warrior Forum?

I haven’t done much that is worth yet. What are you on to then?

I agree. With such a viable source of potential clients for them to tap on, one way is to get their attention where they are most focused at. That’s MySpace for them.

I see it all the time. Meanwhile people are netting 6 figures a month purely on MySpace Marketing. I have a unique position being the admin of the forum, so I get talk to the people who don’t advertise how much they make. I do pretty well for myself, but what some of these people make of myspace alone is enough to make my jaw drop.

It’s an interesting community to say the least.

The income that you have just said is indeed awing for online marketing. Seems unbelievable, yet is the truth. Interesting.

28 Stuart Hannig March 14, 2007 at 10:02 pm

That is sure a lot. Six figures is amazing.

29 Stuart Hannig March 14, 2007 at 10:03 pm

That’s what I assumed. I’ll dig around just a little more.

30 wildbluff_matt March 15, 2007 at 6:22 am

Good point. With that many people, even if you’re only pulling a very small percentage it should still be worth something.

Reply

31 wildbluff_matt March 15, 2007 at 6:25 am

Yeah, six figures seems hard to swallow, but I guess it wouldn’t be impossible, just not likely for all but a few.

Great forum. Cost seems to be the biggest issue. Marketing on/for MySpace isn’t cheap. If your product doesn’t sell you could be out a lot of dough.

I’ve tried to market on MySpace before and within a week or two, the profiles have always been deleted. They catch anything other than a 100% personal profile, and they delete it. Has been happening A LOT lately, not just to me.

p.s. – it was a profile I made about my blog, no products/spam/etc. – just goes to show how strict they’re getting. I’m not worried about it though, MySpace’s membership is going down the drain, rapidly.

Interesting isn’t it… The hypocrisies of these startups is something that’s always gotten on my nerves. Thwart your users for demonstrating the same techniques your business model was founded on.

Cheers MySpace.

I’ve noticed MySpace has become nothing but a large cess pool of spammers. It’s unbelievable to be totally honest.
