Affiliate Summit Videos, Shoutouts, and Light Posting

by Jeremy Schoemaker on March 5, 2007 · 45 comments

EDIT – Sorry this post was so halfass. I was trying to get out the door and also I removed the link to copyblogger cause his site was down… its up now… carry on…

I am traveling this week… Team ShoeMoney™ is flying into St. Louis then driving an hour north to Hillsboro, Illinios. (maybe more on that later). I am not sure that I will even have EVDO access on my laptop (OH NO). So this week there will be no Monday questions and probably some light posting although sometimes in airports I can go all blitzpost style so we will see.

I wanted to give some shout outs.

Copyblogger has a post about Good Grammar (if you are into that)

Thanks to ACS for helping me with blog redesign.

Thanks to Brett for fixing my favicon ;)

Affiliate Summit Videos – I have heard that the video Affiliate Summit where Myself and others take live questions from the audience are now live on Google Video for those that attended (check your email). Also please remember that these are only for people that attended the conference.

Suspenseful. It’s going to be interesting to see how this one pans out. I know I’m on the edge of my seat.

Travel safe man! I think its great that they post the videos from ASW as i attended and didn’t get to go to all the talks.

Reply

18 ToddW March 5, 2007 at 5:37 pm

I think on WF they said the video was originaly (or maybe even now) intended for ONLY those who attended and someone posted it publicly ;)

I have editing/deleting people who have posted the link here….

Hmmm.. the link in DP is still live. I’m not going to watch it though just cuz I’m honorable … lol

21 Chris Alexander March 5, 2007 at 7:03 pm

I couldn’t bear to continue watching it with the long patches of no talk (because of only one mic). You guys really got duped at that talk with the lack of preparation (not having mics for the audience).

22 ShoeMoney March 5, 2007 at 7:17 pm

it was not ideal ;)

23 Andrew Johnson March 5, 2007 at 7:25 pm

I was pretty shocked in the beginning. We didn’t even start until 10+ minutes after the hour because all of us thought a moderator with a microphone was just late and would show up. Fortunately Andrea was able to take care of it, but by then the session was officially half over.

I just saw the video. Pretty cool session! Kind of ended abruptly though.

The videos are not publicly available on Google Video – they are “unlisted” videos (not searchable via Google) that are only for attendees of the conference.

Maybe shoe should link to some spelling articles?

Good idea. Good thing Firefox has spell check … at least the new one does. :D

Unfortunately, the A/V company didn’t set things up correctly.

As far as a moderator, this session was never supposed to have a moderator – it was supposed to be run by the panelists. At least that was how it was proposed to us.

If you look at the agenda from the show – http://www.affiliatesummit.com/07w_agenda.php – you can see moderators are identified in the sessions where they were supposed to be.

Reply

Spelling and design are over rated :P

Yeah .. bad grammer makes you look dumb.

Excerpt from Copyblogger reads.

“But there are other mistakes that can detract from your credibility. While we all hope that what we have to say is more important than some silly grammatical error, the truth is that some people will not subscribe, buy, or link to you if you make dumb mistakes when you write”

Some people don’t care too much if they don’t know the difference between there, they’re and their. In fact some (not too far away) have almost turned it into a catchphrase/personal eccentricity.

Matt Hughes is from Hillsboro…that’s my best guess. My aunt used to date his father, so that’s all I can think of.

So I was off work and surfing and found this place and thought I would join up. I don’t have much more to say right now except I need to start reading some of the older posts to get up to speed before I can start posting.
