Damn. I’m gonna have to give up all those shoemoney domains I just regged:) Congratulations - you have a great brand which should always be protected.
Are you going to add a little (R) to your logo now?
Congrats. How long did the entire process take/cost if you don’t mind me asking?
took about 11 months
Cool. So what is your next step with it after this?
Yeah, so much for buying pantsmoney.com and shirtmoney.com.
Damn. I’ll have to warn the wife that she can no longer ask me for an allowance for shoemoney.
How hard of a process is this? What does it cost to get a trademarked name?
So when can we expect the lawsuit linkbait?
It’s a logical move since you’ve an already established brand.
Congrats! You should do a post one of these days outlining the process. I’ve never known the steps involved.
I am just curious to know if you, Shoemoney, own (or would be interested in owning) other versions of your domain name. Ex: shoemoney.net, shoemoney.org…
What’s the difference between the R and the TM?
The ‘R’ in the circle means that it is officially tradmarked.
Im still waiting to hear if it’s possible to trademark the phrase “skills to pay the bills.” I think people were using that back in the early 90s.
Except… in a recent legal case, the court found that it was okay for your competitors to buy keyword advertising based on your trademarked words… So, you may not be able to stop that from happening. Only if they display your words visibly on their pages would you be able to do anything.
As far as I understand you can always use the TM, so you should’ve used the R in a circle for that post when you now officially have a trademark.
Does this mean that you more effectively can go after people in, say Russia, using the trademark, or at least make ICANN take their domains with the word “Shoemoney” in them?
