My Take On The FuckingPirate

By Jeremy Schoemaker 12 comments

Well a few things happened this week but I think one of the biggest impacts on the SEO world was the fuckingpirate exploiting some wordpress blogs.

Now on his site he has a really good quote that I TOTALLY agree with…

The blogsphere (God I hate that word) is filled with countless “SEO blogs syndicating what other “SEO blog syndicated from another “SEO blog that syndicated some bullshit guru.

- From FuckingPirate

When I read that I want to stand up and clap for this guy… His actions though dont quite agree with what he said. If he wanted to attack the SEO blogs that just recycle and syndicate the same stuff over and over why go after graywolf and stuntdubl? I cant think of 2 more ORIGINAL SEO blogs on the net.

I really get the impression this guy knows what he is talking about but just does not want to put in the work to get there… so he finds a script to take down a few blogs and wants his 2 seconds of fame and preach his “SEO’s Suck” which again he makes some REALLY good points that I agree with.

Well then again maybe I missed the point… Maybe the ends justify the means to him.

What do I think his biggest impact to SEO is? Well you can bet your ass more SEO’s will keep up to date with there wordpress software and also might look into some basic security. Heck it did get Wordpress to release a security update the same day. Maybe its because the sector of people he attacked also had a direct line to most of the Wordpress team?

O well… next new thing in a few days ;)

I couldn’t agree more on his comment or on the fact that he targeted the wrong people by that statement. Those comments could have been made in much less destructive ways with just as much impact, but he’s totally taking the easy way out. It’s just sad.

The fuckingpirate seemed to almost be a fan of you shoemoney saying you were the budda and also linking to the elite retreat. I thought it was you at first.

Good points, When I saw his list of targets the other day (on his blog before it was pulled) I was glad I wasn’t on that particular list :D

This guy wants his 2 seconds of fame as you put it. I agree with his speech about talking out seo from being copied by another seo but c’mon, he’s trying to take down the big fries and prevent it all but that won’t work well. I hope you figure out how this guy really is.

    Fuckingpirate is a non-event.

Sure, throw bricks through people’s windows and people take notice.

    Aside from that, nothing achieved.

[...] Like ShoeMoney, I agree that FuckingPirate does have a point regarding the “countless ‘SEO blogs’ syndicating with other ‘SEO blogs’ syndicated from another ‘SEO blog’ that syndicated some bullshit guru”. FuckingPirate is actually generous with the term syndicating — in some cases, plagiarism or scraping is the more accurate term. Do a tag search for SEO on wordpress.com and you’ll see what I mean. One of the worst I have seen is a plagiarized post giving tips on how to get indexed in Google. One of the tips is “add your urls in your email signature, to your profile and whenever you email add it to your subject, body and mention it as often as possible when you send your email…” [...]
