Do you think that a website that has a niche in SEO would have problems? I highly doubt google would ban you for doing SEO, unless it breaks the guidelines

Google actually has done this, and just because they don't give you a phone number doesn't mean users can't complain. They just do it publicly now instead of privately over the phone. Skimping on customer service is never a good move.

The worst thing about AdSense is that Google will ban your account and keep your earnings just as quickly for your competitors' fraudulently clicking your ads in an act of sabotage as they would had you fraudulently clicked your own ads.

AdSense sabotage gets very little coverage, but it is rapidly becoming a major problem that is costing a lot of small publishers and bloggers a fair amount of money.

Well, ClickBank does state this policy on their site. The problem with the PayPal payments is that they can't verify the physical address associated with the email account, which they can do with credit cards. They require a certain number of payments from different counties, states or countries before they send the first cheque. This doesn't just apply to vendors, it also applies to affiliates.

If you're going to sell something on ClickBank (like I do) then the best strategy is to build yourself up a mailing list of potential customers before you start selling your product, and then sell to the list first to get those initial sales going. You still have to promote after that (my sales page is lame, going to overhaul it this weekend) but it's good to have a way to get over the initial hurdle.

The AdSense Program Policies have always included Google's webmaster guidelines, and those state that you shouldn't do any deceptive SEO stuff. So yes, it's always been there but now it's made more explicit.

I thought it looked familiar ... but are you sure it wasn't rewritten a little for, as Shoe explains, a "broader" approach?

They should just go the route of YPN and kick people out without even giving a reason or responding to emails whatsoever. People can't complain if you ignore them.

Actually, this particular part has been in the policies for a year or two. It was added during the whole blog spam craze because obviously Google didn't want their ads showing on pages being promoted (and getting better ranks in the serps) through methods such as blog spam. So this actually didn't change at all.
