Forget about this one, you tell it how it is, that’s why this blog is popular.

Hmm. I like the “lose 20 pounds of fat, gain 30 pounds of muscle” idea. Maybe we should form a pact? :)

I’m DEFINITELY looking forward to your show with Darren Rowse. Do you have a date confirmed yet?

I think we talked about 2-3 week in january

  14. JP said on December 10th, 2006 at 4:00 pm

    Mine will be:

1.Get a web site to #1 in google for a competitive search term (heck #1-5 would be nice).

2.Get my missus some flowers on a few random days (she’s always complaining I never get her flowers!)

  15. SA said on December 10th, 2006 at 6:31 pm

    Great goals.

I’ll have to start categorizing mine.

One note though, it is incredibly difficult to put on 30 lbs of muscle within 1 year, generally results like that are reserved for the genetic freaks out there, or those who unwisely medicate themselves. Good luck nonetheless, coming up halfway on that goal would be a great accomplishment.

  16. John Loch said on December 10th, 2006 at 8:07 pm

    Already ?
I haven’t even begun to plan out 2007 yet.

I WILL say this tho. Since all the fun stuff in terms of SEO/SEM conferences happens over there, I DO plan to make it over there at least once. Not only am I gonna leave you with a sore thumb (I’ll need a beer or two first I think) DAMN IT - I’m GOING TO GET ME ONE OF THOSE SHOEMONEY HATS AND TSHIRTS !

    GRRRR. :)
Oh PS: Good to hear about your corporate website. I think a few changes might improve its appeal (thats just me of course).

PSS: More video is good. I cant just pick up and trot off to the latest event, so rich media coverage is also a good idea (well, for me anyway) :)
    Cheers,

    JL

Can’t wait for that show with Darren Rowse either - two bald (ish) guys chewing the fat over making money online - should be fun :-)

    Health for family and friends.
Finally figure out how to introduce my site to the poor buggers who buy pixel links and make my site the “next big thing” I believe it can be.
Make better trades by not being greedy, being consistent, and following solid money management.
Form a partnership with a larger/more experienced webmaster to help take my site to another level.
    Learn to speak Italian.

  19. Jason said on December 10th, 2006 at 10:36 pm

Introduce more useful features to http://www.articleonramp.com
    Increase author count by %500
    Learn the basics of PPC
    Write more articles
    Write more blog posts
Finally… reach my monthly monetary goals

  20. TheGrin said on December 10th, 2006 at 11:09 pm

  27. Brian Mark said on December 11th, 2006 at 10:06 am

    Business Goals -
    1. Get Shoemoney to finally hold up on his end of getting together for lunch.
    2. Increase online sales by $5M.
    3. Decide if I’m sticking with SES or finding a new conference to speak at.
    4. Get a more “Professional” automobile paid for entirely by side projects.
    5. Hire someone to do some programming for me so I can work entirely on marketing / big picture stuff.

  28. Pete Wailes said on December 11th, 2006 at 10:18 am

Don’t bother learning the “tricks of the trade”; learn the trade and the tricks will come too…

    Thought for the day :)

  29. Rett said on December 11th, 2006 at 11:35 am

-”loose 20 lbs of fat gain 30lbs of muscle”
-”Play more with 3rd tier PPC engines”

FYI, you can’t gain 30lbs of muscle in a year w/o hitting the “juice.” Stay away from the juice! Train hard, eat properly, and make steady progress…you’ll be much happier. Plus, you won’t have giant saggy tits 2 years from now when you go off the sauce. :)
I’d also recommend staying away from 3rd-tier PPC. It sucks, and you’ll get a TON of sh*t traffic (even if you go after the longest of the long tails). Just my $.02

  30. Jackson said on December 11th, 2006 at 12:49 pm

    Shoe,

Great goals. Inspiring as always. You might want to list the “make a website that makes a difference” OVER the “playboy mansion mission”. Might help you reach the “be more humble” goal. Not that I think you should, from what I can tell all the Shoe-haters are simply jealous.

Please don’t abandon Net Income. It is literally the reason I am doing this. Without it I would still be buying ebooks at $97 a pop. I understand you need a break. Maybe go to an every other week schedule or let Andrea or someone else take over as host for a bit. Net Income is by far the best show on WMR. The others don’t talk too often about monetizing your sites, even though that’s what we’re all listening for. Trust me, we are NOT listening for the geek humor. Although that DaveN is one funny cat. But I think he should have a seperate show for ranting and complaining…

    4. Learn a little more seo tactics/tricks
    5. Have 1 site that i fully designed/coded online within the next 5 months
    6. Nave some more fun.
    7. Break into about $100-150 a day from adsense

Awesome goals. I haven’t been able to put together much in the way of solid goals for next year yet, but here are a couple off the top of my head:

Make it to 1000 uniques a day on my main blog and start a couple new blogs.
    Earn $1000/month from these blogs.

  40. Bart said on December 12th, 2006 at 8:59 am

I really hope you keep doing the show, it’s been an inspiration to me and many others and it would be a big loss to the whole community.

  41. Alexander said on December 13th, 2006 at 4:03 am

    Shoe

I think with your history losing 20lbs fat will be no problem. But I think you’ll really struggle with 30lbs of muscle, it’s just so damn hard to put on. I reckon 20lbs is far more achievable but you HAVE to make sure you eat your protein, 1gram - 1.5gram per day per one pound of body weight. The only way to do this is via protein powder .

But the nice thing about putting on muscle is that you only really need to spend 45 mins 4 times a week down at the gym. It’s not hard rather it just takes a long time, time which cannot be rushed.

  42. Frostie said on December 13th, 2006 at 8:15 am

    A few of mine are;
    - Do more experiments with PPC.
    - Fine tune those PPC campaigns I am already running.
    - Play more with different PPC engines other than MSN and Google.
    - Build up and sell another website before 2007.
    - Attend less ‘Affiliate G2G’ (maybe attend more, but drink less?)
    - Attend Vegas Affiliate Summit

I amongst others are booked ready to the last on my list, so already its looking good for 2007 :o)

  43. anversli said on December 13th, 2006 at 7:32 pm

    - Health and happiness for my friends and family.
    - More study about the internet, to make more income :)
    Best wishes for everyone.

Stop spending so much time reading other peoples blogs hehe ;-)
Definitely wouldn’t mind attending an event at the Playboy Mansion :-D

  45. Scotia King said on December 15th, 2006 at 9:10 pm

What about getting Jeremy Palmer of quityourdayjob.com on the show? He supposedly makes more than $1 million per year from affiliate marketing.

I know you only have 7 shows left on your current contract, and I think it would be a great show to do before you go on hiatus.. :) hiatus.. :)
