Yeah, Fiddler is THE tool to use. It's unrivaled by any Firefox extension in that area. But the biggest drawback for me with Tamper Data and LiveHTTPHeaders is, that there's no way to view the reply-body (and that's nasty in situations with page refreshes and redirects)...

You don't have to recompile anything. Use 7-zip to open the .xpi, go into the install.rdf and change the version from 1.5 to 3.0 and put it back in the archive. Duh.

I use Firefox and IE interchangably (Yeah, go ahead and yell. I don't care. I know what works for me). Anyway, I just figured I'd mention Fiddler. It's an unsupported MS product (free too) which has the same purpose as this Firefox plugin except that it works for both browsers (and a lot of other products which generate http traffic). In short, you run the program and it sets itself up as a transparent http proxy in your internet settings (Windows users only). It's got a nice UI and shows you everything in real-time (requests with headers and any post data, reponses with encodings, headers, etc). In fact, it will even let you tweak the headers and replay http sessions (way cool). It's a cool toy for your toolbox and can be very handy when doing analysis type tasks.

Shoe, you are an abosulte star. I blogged about affiliate friendly pulgins a while back and httpheaders is certianly one of my favourites. Was gutted when it didn't work with FF2.

Cheers
Paul.
