The New Yahoo Search Marketing – Jenstar has Got The Scoop

by Jeremy Schoemaker on October 19, 2006 · 6 comments

Over at Jenstar has the most complete writeup I have seen on the “Attending the Yahoo Influencers event for Panama release” event.

They picked a great bunch of writers to attend this event and I am sure they will do a great job of keeping the word out on whats coming down the pipe with Yahoo Search Marketing. I was a little dissapointed at first to see that hardly none of the people that attended actually do PPC advertising but then it seemed more of a media event and I think for that they invited the right people.

Congrats to those who attended! Sounds like it was a increadible event.

Also even if I was invited I wouldnt have been able to go because I was in Vegas at the UFC fight

Why the hell would they want to get rid of the Yahoo keyword traffic tool? I also got an email this week that they would be changing their bid system so that you no longer will see the exact bids.

Well, just for the record, I do PPC, and I have had my YSM (formerly Overture) account since 2001 or 2002, and still have a lot of keywords in there that were grandfathered at $0.05 a click from Feb 2003 ;)

We strongly expressed to them the need to have some kind of keyword traffic tool. While the numbers are not exactly accurate, we told them (Cat was especially vocal) that the tool is a great way to introduce people to the potential of search.

I’ve been doing PPC since the Goto days, I’m sure they were impressed with the two dozen keywords I now manage for my blog. :-)
