Google Dumps Supplimental Results

by Jeremy Schoemaker on October 5, 2006 · 6 comments

About 20 mins ago I noticed one of my sites that went supplimental now only has about 4,000 indexed pages where it did have about 500,000 but tons of supps.

Looks like Google is doing some spring cleaning. (in fall)

UPDATE: Well that did not last long… checking the google datacenters it looks like its already rolled back.

I noticed a fluctuation in PR this morning as well that has regressed to yesterdays previous value.

I was getting excited for a second. I have one site where almost all my pages are showing up as supplemental.

It is extremely likely that Google separates this database from the rest; they may simply be doing maintenance to it. Their index is huge, thus a supplemental index was a great idea to keep things clean.

I saw a change in PR this morning. Any ideas of how someone can get banned from MSN? I was getting 300/day from MSN, now not one referral…

Seeing some supplemental changes here. Pages still supplemental, but once again ranking for some good keywords.

Things are in a flux, but some supp housecleaning is being done. If you’ve got good links you’re likely to see some improvement soon.
