Sometimes I forget people actaully read my blog… and well… I vented earlier
I think the normal 16 hour a day shoemoney machine mixed with 4 hours of sleep a night with a new baby mixed with some other stuff just made me rage a bit.
Webmasterradio does a good job and they are always striving to improve.
I just need to unplug when I am not doing my show for a bit. I guess this is why people normally take maternaty leave.

I totally agree with you. I was in there when you did the show with Lee Dodd and some, not all, of the users in the room were acting a bit childish and rude for some reason.
Whether they were doing it as a joke or not I’m not sure but sometimes joking can be obnoxious(sp?) and go overboard.

I gave up on Webmaster Radio chat a few weeks ago. It really was a great place to chat, definitely some of the best in the industry. Maybe some other IRC venue can take up the slack.
Shoemoney I am suprised you were able to stay in there as long as you have been. Where else do you IRC ?
I think if someone made a good moderated chat room with admins that actually kept order then people like Greg Boser, Oilman, Matt Cutts and the rest might come back.
I totally agree webmaster radio chat is completely screwed up right now.
Webmaster Radio Chat is a joke and it’s totally out of control, I stopped going about 2 months ago.

I have to agree – the first two shows worked well with the chatroom – everyone behaved and interacted with Shoe well – the last few have been chaos – I didn’t even bother to communicate.
Shoe – will WMR allow you to promote an independent chatroom – perhaps housed on this blog? (I’m guessing not or you would have a solution in place by now – cause you da man!)

You better off doing it on your own. You don’t need webmaster radio. If I can do it on my own, so could you. I am sure a fan could develop the chat software for you. There are too many possibilities out there to be tied to WMR
Something like that could effect the success of your show. Or, at least the interactive portion of it.

Its good you voice your opinions unlike the other seo all stars that just leave and you wonder why they stoped showing up
I suggested solutions to the problem months ago. None were implemented, they were in fact met with hostility. This isn’t a problem of a few idiots, its mis-management. Shoe is just the latest in a long line to give up on WMR.
It’s really bad that you are not coming back to the chat, i agree there’s alot of people talking about anything but the live show, but there was the only place where you can get online with people like you, greg bouser and matt cuts, maybe you can still work on the idea of a better chatroom, i personally use mirc since it’s easy to use, easy to moderate and works fast, actually i use it to connect to the webmasterradio chatroom.
Hope you can find another way to have that communication channel with us, i know we can post here but a chat is always better =)

I only log into chat room for The Daily SearchCast. Doesn’t seem to be so bad then but I have seen occassional times during live log-ins on other shows where idiots abound. SearchCast is about the only show I listen to live anyway. The rest I catch in the archives.
BTW – Keep up the great work on your show shoe!

i agree with you man. i’ve tried to make sense of all the BS that goes on in that chat room but with no luck! i hope someone starts a clean, well focused chat where we can all profit!

Is email the best way to ask questions for the show? I missed out on live time the last couple of weeks but having people and yourself answer questions in the chat room while the show was going on live was a great asset.

Thats IRC, people will talk about what they want to talk about, what if they werent listening to the show? what if they were continuing their convo from before? Cant fully control the convo flow…oh well

Great shows and I agree the chats have been a mess. I often make suggestions to WMR or point out incorrect links to their own archive shows, etc. Usually just met with some attitude. Frustrating that we can’t just try to improve upon something for everyone to benefit. Like so many things that can be always improved, the whole WMR concept can be done better with some professionalism and respect.
so does the about turn on changing your first post mean your going to be back in the chat room ? you do some great shows indeed and if it was not for the chance to get the chatroom to post questions so you can ask the person on your show it would not flow as well
PS. I take it you did not realiase that’s what having kids can do to your system through lack of sleep but its normally its the child spitting the dummy out and not the adult ….
Never mind, dude – babies always sleep through eventually and the insanity (well the sleep deprived type anyway) does end.

Hey Shoe, this has nothing to do about the show but rather about being a parent… you’ve discovered by now that the challenge with a new baby isn’t the lack of sleep, it’s the interrupted sleep that really gets to you. I was pretty much in zombie mode for the first few months. But we all survive….

I have our show on my ipod and it is THE ONLY podcast i listen to regularly and i have been inspired so much form it.

The real problem here is the complete lack of quality control at WMR. If they are striving to become a legit media force on the internet the they need to act like it. Having a chatroom that gets out of control b/c of a few jagoffs is unacceptable. The chatroom should be moderated better; especially during shows. I say all this having not read your original post.
That said please don’t drop the show. Yours is the best one on WMR.

I have a theory. Darren from ProBlogger is the alter Shoemoney.
They both have great hairlines, they both have great blogs but on different sides of making money online, and they both have babies at the same time with one working straight through and the other taking a leave.
Hmmm….
If you have show for today, you should have same talk writen in /subfolder so if some one missed your talk show than people can come and read letter on.
It is nice to have talk show in writen too in your subfolder so people could read it also search engine crawler will love your subfolder and you will increase traffic.
