Late 2006 Travel Schedule

This is a confirmed list of places of events I will be speaking/attending for 2006. I have been getting a lot of emails asking me what I am going to now that I am a father so just thought I would post this up.

August 4-6th – Defcon – Las Vegas

This is a really awesome conference in Las Vegas where hackers from around the world unite. They always have great keynote speakers and generally a huge part of the open source community is represented.

August 7-10 Search Engine Strategies – San Jose, California
My favorite event of the year. This conference last year was the first SES I had ever attended. I thought it was so expensive and how in the world was I going to justify the expenses. I learned so much at this that it paid for itself before I arrived home… literally. It was also the first time I met Greg Boser, Todd Friesen, Jen Slegg, Jason Calcanis, Danny Sullivan, Jason Golod and the list goes on and on… not that they remember me of course as I was just a listner to there session.

Danny Sullivan talked to me a little bit in Toronto about speaking in San Jose but we never really talked more about it. I am probably supposed to contact someone or something if that is going to happen.

September 15-17 HavokFest – Fairfax, VA

Havokfest last year was OFF THE HOOK. I cant really talk to much about havokfest due to h4x0r NDA.

September 28th Search Engine Strategies – Denver, Colorado

I plan to attend a lot of these “local” ses conferences this year

October 23-24th Search Engine Strategies – Los Angeles, California

Novermber 14-17th – Webmaster World Pubcon – Las Vegas
This was a great conference last year. The Yahoo lunch moderated by Jen Slegg and the Google Lunch where they introduced Analytics and gave away free analytics (up and to the right) shirts was REALLY COOL. Plus I mean… its vegas baby!

December 4-7 Search Engine Strategies – Chicago, IL

Thanks for those, Shoemoney. SEO Book’s Aaron Wall created a handy Google calendar of marketing and SEO conferences that includes most of these:

Sounds like a great lineup! How did you get plugged into such great conferences? Any online resource out there that compile lists of these types of events?

Hope to meet you in San Jose. If you hook up with Ken from Epiar again (he had the limos in Toronto), I’m sure I’ll see you. Who knows… maybe we’ll even be on the same flight outta Omaha.

Defcon is really the only conference worth going too… :) And if anyone needs help with finding a cheap flight, check out the guide on my site.

I have to say, I think Aaron Wall deserves some kind of award this year…you should try to have him on the Shoemoney Show. Not that that is some kind of award, but the guy deserves some kind of recognition for all of the super-duper-cool tools that he and his team have put together and made public. Kind of remids me of what Shawn did at DP back in the day. Hope all is great with baby J and mama J.

Hello guys!

I’m quite sad I won’t be able to attend physically those conferences :( Is there any radio broadcast for these conferences anyway? Or pehaps a taped version of it so wherever I’m assigned I won’t be missing it since it’s just in my ears always :)
