New Microsoft AdCenter Changes – So Long 20 Million Keyword Campaigns

Posted June 30th, 2006 by Jeremy Schoemaker

Today I loged into my adcenter account to upload some new keywords and I kept getting errors. Everything from sql error to that annoying error 1 that we all know and love.

Then I got a new error. It said that my keywords had exceeded the max allowed. I am guessing this to be somewhere around 40-50k.

I think my days of 20 million keyword campaigns on adcenter for nickel clicks are over =( was a good run lol….

I expect Microsoft will come out with a official announcement in the next week… or they wont.

About two weeks ago I got an error saying I had exceeded the max number of keywords in my Adcenter account. I called their phone support about it and was told that there is a limit of 100k keywords per account.

Did they really drop it from 20 million all the way down to 100k? How many new Adcenter accounts did you have to set up?

I was thinking about using them for ads…but settled with google adwords..but now use neither

The sad thing is that bug is probably just caused by a data type in a sql table somewhere that isn’t big enough.. they figured nobody would need that many!

Damn, they’re intent on removing their saving grace.
