Google coop part 2

OK so I thought I understood the Google coop and I think I do for the most part but not really….. Talking with other “experts” the only thing that is common is that everyone thinks its something different.
Obviously SER (rusty brick) understands it and I hope for him it works out. I know he has put a lot of time and been a huge supporter of the Google Co-op publicly.
Now I am starting to think the Coop could be the coolest idea nobody understands or uses =(
On another note daveN says nobody will link to him anymore, even his friend Matt Cutts. So here you go daveNrel=”nofollow”>

I’m sure Dave will be thrilled about that…!

I’m inclined to agree with you shoe; that write-up on the Co-op was far from straightforward, so I’ll admit that I had to read it a few times to figure out exactly how they were trying to go about their 2.0 play (not impressed). As soon as they try to tie this to organic search, it will be a spam haven.

I think you’re right on both counts. I, for one, certainly don’t understand what Google is trying to achieve here - I’ll just wait until Jenster tells us what it’s all about; or perhaps not
One thing I have noticed about the Co-op listings is that I appear to have been subscribed to all of the “Health” and “Travel” listings without my knowledge and there doesn’t appear to be a way to unsubscribe - Google glitch or . . .
Perhaps the Big G knows more about me than I do, are they suggesting that I should “travel for the good of my health”?

I still can’t believe you got a hummer… LUCKY!
Did your wife get you that black car too?

so COOP is not understood by smart people…. how are the nongeeks supposed to “get it” and use it…. I think co-op might be another flop..

Perhaps someone knows enough XML to create a Wordpress Plugin? As with
anything new, it will take those of us who are less techy a bit more time to
catch on. I am sure over the next few months we will start to see some great
uses of this service.
Here is
my quick attempt at doing something with it.

Hey sk what exactly do you want it to do ?
[Reply]
I’m not sure yet. Just trying to figure out all the potential benefits.
