I got up at 5am this morning and drove from Lincoln to Omaha to attend the BRK shareholder meeting. Was really nice to meet those of you that said hi.
I ran into Bill Gates for the 2nd year in a row and like a IDIOT I did not have my camera. I talked to him for a few minutes about Adcenter and he said that Microsoft was REALLY excited about this product and to look for them to make some big moves in the search engine market. I also thanked him for hosting me at fenway park 2 weeks ago in Boston. (the thanks really belogs to Jen and todd for hooking that up).
I told him I thought he would be a great guest on the shoemoney show upcoming on webmasterradio.fm and he smiled and said “give me your card and I will make sure you get a much more qualified individual from the Adcenter Team”. I thanked him but told him I already was in close contact with those members
Ahh well dunno if you dont ask =)

How does someone get that close to Bill Gates without security and his peoples pushing you back?

Adcenter is in VERY early beta so it is hard to compare… I do think they are trying to get all the functionality of ysm and adwords.

Is Adcenter all that great? Hell, for that matter is anything Microsoft does all that great. Doesn’t matter so much as the results, and Microsoft blunders quite a bit but they have one hell of a marketing machine, which is why Bill Gates is the top money guy in the world.
And, Shoe and BG on a date would just look….awkward.
I agree that BG is a great philanthropist.

If BG clicks an adcenter ad, is it worth more than a regular user? I mean that is HIGHLY targetted and you know that user has the cash to spend…

Next time you see Bill Gates, tell him I said thanks for investing such and outstanding amount of his wealth through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
This is a part of his legacy no one else even comes close to him on. Shame an Larry and Sergy for their half assed effort so far.

That’s pretty cool. Just curious, but did you still give him your card?

Nice work shoe, next time why don’t you just ask BG on a date? Is Adcenter really all that great?
