Boston Pubcon Schedule - Shoemoney Cheat sheet

By Jeremy Schoemaker 13 comments

I made a cheat sheet for what sessions I will be going to but also I am going to write a little about them ;) Also its 1 page printable ;)

Yellow=Where I will be
Pink=Where I will not be

Also I just want to say I always learn more in the exhibit hall and bar then at any session ;). However they are awesome to make initial contacts.

boston pubcon Click to get the full image. (I found this much easier then printing 5 pages from the official site).

Ok

Tuesday:

9-10:30: Malcolm Gladwell:
I am guessing right now I am not going to this. Mostly cause I will probably recovering from Monday night. Instead I will probably roll into the conference about 10am and go see my friends at BOTW booth to say hi and see if they need help setting up anything.

11:15 - Affiliate Microsites and Niche Marketing

I really am not interested in Local Search and these ppc guys are more focused on people selling products so not really interested in that either. Affiliate Microsites and Niche Marketing is the clear winner here and where I will stay put.

The Speakers for this session are Chris Raimondi and Jeff Libert. Chris is a friend of mine and also helped me do one of my first blogcasts on DMCA. Chris is always extremely prepared and one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. Jeff Liebert is a very fascinating guy that I had the pleasure of meeting in Las Vegas. I talked to him a bit about my various websites… It was mostly related to domain issues. This guy knows his stuff and has been in this game for a long time. Between these two speakers this is a NO MISS session.

11:35a - 12:50p - Domain Names: Strategic, Technical and Legal Issues. AND Link Building Clinic.

I am going to balance the time between these 2 sessions. Jeff and Deborah are the true experts in the field when it comes to domain litigation. Monte is a good public speaker too and has some experience in domain litigation being that he owns moniker.com. I do not really know any of the people in the Link Building Clinic but its always good to hear some new perspectives on the subject.

12:50p 1:50p - Luncheon Session Sponsored by Google

The last time I went to a pubcon Google sponsored lunch they introduced analytics and gave out free shirts (SCORE). Wonder if anything will be going on here.

1:50p 3:10p - Organic Search Forum AND Blogging, Pod Casting and RSS Feeds.

DAMN U BRETT TABKE. I hate when there are 2 great sessions at the same time =(

Aaron Wall and Mike Grehan? Are you kidding me. I am not going to miss this session… O ya Bruce Clay is there also.

When Bruce Clay is talking I will probably skip over the the Blogging/podcasting session and hopefully be able to catch Brian Prince of BOTW or Daron Babin, owner of Webmaster Radio

After that I will probably go and chill around the exhibitions and see if I can win any stuffed animals or something. Maybe I can take the SEO CHALLENGE again from SEO INC.

Tuesday Night: Yahoo! Party! WEeeeEeEE Yaaahoooooooooo!

Wednesday April 19

09:00a - 10:00a : Morning Coffee Session with The Super Bloggers Of Search

Umm Robert Scoble, Jeremy Zawodny, Matt Cutts. Need I say more? Yes I will be there.

10:15a 11:30a - Major Contextual Advertising Programs

Ok this is a NO MISS for any advertiser. Ever wonder what you would do one day when Yahoo! or Google bans your account? These are the guys cards you want to have in your back pocket.

GO UP AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO THEM AND MAKE FRIENDS

11:35a 12:50p - Link Building Campaigns AND Super Affiliates In Highly Competitive Markets AND Organic Site Reviews.

I HATE YOU NOW MORE THEN EVER BRETT TABKE

How do you make me choose between Link Building Masterminds Jim Boykin and Mike Grehan discusing building link building OR the affiliate session hosted by satan himself featuring affiliate masterminds Ziv Dascalu, David Rivero, John Coronella, Chris Raimondi (who together have made enough money from affiliates to pay for the whole iraq war) OR an Organic Site Review session by Matt Cutts and Tim Mayer?!?! Why not just throw in a session on how to become a billionaire hosted by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett AT THE SAME TIME TOO. Oook moving on… (I will figure it out somehow)

1:50p 3:10p - Paid Links - Risks vs Reward

This was a no brainer for me. I had little interest in the other sessions although the ppc engines and programs caught my eye.

I am excited to hear from Patrick Gavin, the premier link salesman from Text Link Ads, INC. Also my AdWords idol Todd Malicoat will pitch in his 2 cents on the subject. What a interesting session this is going to be.

3:30p-5:00p Super Session : Search Engines and Webmasters

Matt Cutts and crew.. I will be there for most of this.

Wednesday Night - Corporate Box at Fenway!

I have been invited by a pretty large corporation to the Redsox Game Wednesday night and party it up in there box suite! Yaaaay Goo (company to be named later).

do you know if you’ll be in one of the b, k, or l suites? maybe legends if you’re lucky but that’s on the other side of the park… I’ll be on the b suite level. if you see the espn suite/crew it’s in that area.

I’m sure you will find a way to be in more than one place at the same time.

Damn I’m jealous! Not only for the sweet convention but I’m a die hard Sox fan who has yet to make the pilgrimage to Fenway. Anyway I can’t wait to hear what tid bits you pick up from the convention.

I just flew into Boston yesterday and am watching the last mile of the Marathon right outside my window, as I type! I also just posted my first official blog post today.

Looking forward to the conference… thanks for the cheat sheet!

I had a hard time choosing between some of those sessions, myself. But all said and done I walked away with some great notes, and enjoyed the entire conference.

Nice to meet you in person, by the way!
